96N reg cars with about 80,000 miles go for about £6k at auction, so £9K for a MY00 is taking the Michael.

If you really need to sell it in a hurry take it down to your local auction (I think there is a BCA auction site in Enfield) and set a reserve of around £12K. If it doesn't sell you've only lost £30, if it does you're laughing.

Just my twopence.

Raj

I was wondering if people think this is a fair price or not? Or maybe it should come down towards 11k?
Cheers,
Paul.

price seems reasonable
surely 11k is too low
probably not the best place to sell as scoob as most people own them here already
. I sold my my00 euro import (dec99 15k miles to a m8 for 13k about 4.5 months ago)

Your price sounds OK to me. Happily paid just over 12K for a Sept'99.

Differences-
28K miles
Colour coded
Scoobysport backbox
PD7 wheels
Asking price £12750

Found it in loot.

The seller had it advertised for a week before I saw it and it was another couple of weeks by the time I picked it up, he only had one other call in that time.

Hope that helps
TolTec.

Hi All, thanks for the comments.

I've no digital pics of it - but anyway it looks exactly like a bog standard 00 scooby in green (no dents or holes in it!) - in fact my next door neighbours have one exactly like it - and a scooby wagon in silver :-)

I thought the price was about right but I'm still not too sure - I see that Parkers has the "trade" price at about this level. But as I said its got to go (unfortunatly) so it may have to drop to shift it... I just ran an Auto Trader web add with price at 14k and not a sniff at all for six weeks. Maybe I'll try Loot - unless someone on here wants a spare scooby? :-)

Cheers,
Paul.

I had another scan through the Auto Trader web listings for scoobys and there seems to be hundreds and hundreds for sale at the moment - I can only conclude that its a very bad time to sell em - market glut? Maybe the price is heading closer to 10k... :-(

Davy.

If I was selling my car GT4 (WRC model) then I'd take it off your hands for £10,000. Good price and you should easily sell it for that...be patient !

Regards

your price is okay if it is sitting on a dealer forecourt (not main dealer) I would have thought should get anywhere between 11 and 12 though.

just my thoughts

cheers and good luck

Paul
I saw a W reg Impreza Turbo sell for £12,500 with 19,000 miles on the clock at the BCA auction in Blackbushe a couple of weeks ago.
It had a deep scratch on the bonnet as well.

Anything under £12K is just giving it away (IMHO).

Thanks for the encouragement - I need it !

The best offer I've had so far is 9k !!!
And no its not going for that price - its just too great a car to give it away - at this rate I'll just have to get a bigger mortgage.

Seems to me that this must be a real bad time to sell a scooby? Impending fule shortages maybe? I don't know?

I dont think I'll bother with Auto Trader again its just full of em at the mo. Maybe Loots worth a try though? Or local paper even!

Thanks Raj, auction is a good idea - I'll give it some serious though. Cheers, Paul.

I spose at the mo what I really need is a way to part-ex a car for a house.... hummm... I wonder if I could develop a business out of this thought :-)
