Complete Link Setup For Sale
#1
I'm sure there are quite a few p1's with this mod
As to what gains you are going to get, this depends on a lot of factors.
What exhaust and downpipe you have fitted (better ones will allow you to flow more gas)
What induction you have fitted (better one will allow quicker pick up)
How its mapped for your driving style and requirements and who by - I would recommend talking to bob rawle direct, best to go straight to the organ grinder than any associated monkeys imo.
Basically the ecu will allow customisation of air/fuel and boost across the rev range (and increased advance) so you can map for quite a lot more power especially when mapped in conjunction with a decent octane booster (like nf), slightly less power/boost for a small increase but not resilient upon octance boost.
What you should find (i would have thought) would be quicker spool, holding the boost longer and running more boost.
For example my sti5 before link was running 1.1bar before link, afterwards was happily running 1.45 bar (tbmeech's sti5 also running the same) so thats an increase in boost of almost 50%!
Yet strangely my fuel economy was better after it had been mapped and also many flat spots (probably dialled in for emissions testing) had been removed.

Floyd,
The ECU will need to be remapped by BRD or another Link tuning establishment as its different for each car.
Remap is only £250 so its still a considerable saving over new prices.

Barring the remap, is this a setup than can be fitted easily or is best to get BRD et al to install it? Did BRD supply it originally?
I'm interested....very interested. The warranty runs out soon!

Hi Mike,
When I got mine mapped initially, I took all the bits with me bar the Knocklink and Lambda Link to BRD (Got them fitted before hand).
BRD would be able to map it for you, speak to Bob Rawle he's a top bloke.
ECU and 3 Port Bob would do on the mapping day, takes about 30 mins tops to install the pair.
Hope this helps
Toby

People just don't know a deal when they see one do they....
This makes such a difference to any MY99-00 car, UK or STI.
Gives more torque lower down, holds boost longer and lets you use the fuel you can get to it's utmost.
Well worth it...

I don't need it but it would be nice
Then I'd have to get an air-filter, DP, FMIC etc etc etc etc
Job first - then Link.
I could trade you something if you like? 2 sets of MY99 alloys & 24 assorted tyres (SO2s & Slicks)?? Throw in a MY99 ECU? Or less tyres/wheels & a PPP ECU? Folding mirrors? Or something in a different line - what are your interests?

Mike,
Don't delay, just get it. Bob will fit it no problem and even give you the free 'R' version chip upgrade that cures a small idling glitch. Just a bit of a wait due to loads of folks wanting this package...!
This is a must.

Ohh, I know how good they can be, I've been out in a mate's UK MY00 from Sussex that's fitted with it and a few other bits. I just remember him having troubles with the board a few months back, so I'm just checking.
I want it though, but need to be sure of installation details...
Wish I was nearby, but I'm over in Wales!
