MY02 WRX 4 door dark blue. UK Spec (inc. Cat 1 alarm + immobiliser)
Personal import from Cyprus through Gibsons of Brock, Lancashire.
9k miles. Just serviced (Main Dealer)
Extras:
Morette headlight conversion (colour coded)
Tracker, TSL Gp N back box
3 yrs extended warranty.
2 brand new spare tyres, but still plenty of tread left on present ones fitted to car! 4 brand new Iridium Blitz spark plugs as well (not yet been fitted).
Reason for impending sale....looking at buying new house..
What's a fair price then?
I paid £19,000 (not including tracker, TSL back box, psark plugs and tyres) 7 months ago...
So, is £16,500 a fair price??

I am afraid your price is way too high when you consider that you can now find a UK Main Dealer supplied car with 3 years warranty brand new 52 for between £17,000 & £17,500 so unfortunately it makes yours look expensive, rember when you drive a car out of the showroom you immediately lose 17.5% in VAT nothing you can do about the.
I hope you have joy selling your car but it is a very difficult time selling the old!!! model new model impreza I was offered a Full UK spec 2003 New shape for £17,000 delivered to the UK from Holland all taxes paid the only thing you had to do was fit a Thatcham 1 Alarm system
You just have to accept that SUBARU stiched up every owner by reducing the price on all models because they could not sell the bug eyesd cars. but I bet they did not tell anyone that when they were buying one. it was the greatest thing since sliced bread, but the UK public fought with their feet and deserted the Subaru showrooms and bought Evos RS etc hence the urgent Facelift model for 2003.
Keep your chin up drive the car enjoy it someday it might become collectabille

Thanks for your comments Benview.
I do appreciate that £3k has been knocked off the UK bugeyes ready for next year (if you can get hold of one).
And I do appreciate that you can get hold of an import for £17,500...but then add on the alarm e.t.c. and it soon adds up.
I really don't want to sell the car as it's totally awesome, but needs must if I'm to move house and furnish it. (had to write this bit in case the wife reads this...she wants me to get rid really!! only kidding dear.... my choice.

Tony - I'm in the same pos as you (although mine's a belgian car) - I've decided to keep it, as it just isn't worth selling a bugeye at the moment - you might be better off trying again in the spring. Otherwise you'll get shafted at the mo....
Even MY02's are worth £15,500 tops....

Well from a buyers point of view (me) I wouldn't be interested in any MY02 model unless it had a ppp, then I'd pay up to £16k.
With banner ads advertising the new shape for £16,300ish Scoobynet isn't the ideal place to flog your car these days.
Spend £25 and advertise it on autotrader where 70% of people probably don't even realise a new shape is coming out yet.
Good luck with the sale.

I hate people having a pop at other people selling cars.........however.............it is a real hard time to sell stuff what with the new ones being out soon and all. Scoobynet in my opinion is the worst place to sell such a car, too much knowledge kicking around and many wise punters. I put mine on Autotrader in the end, better response entirely and dirt cheap if you go for the online only option. All I can say is youll have to see what people want to pay for it - its a buyers market on these things. good luck

Tony,
I too don't want to take a pop at your price, as I have a bugeye MY01 also imported via Gibsons but from Holland. I took my car to a Mitsubishi dealer when the car was 12 months old with just 5.5k on the clock, PPP, morrettes alarm, warrenty etc... All he would give me against a FQ300 was £13k, god knows what he would give me now, and this was well before the facelift was announced!

I got a load of abuse last time I suggested someone should be more realistic when selling one of these, fact is i think they are head and shoulders above the classic shape car........ to drive.
I took my MY01 to a BMW dealership to px aginst a £35k M3 and was offered £12,500, most dealers just won't touch imports.
Hate to be carrier of bad news but realisticly I would price your car around that figure.
I got rid of mine because the service I had from Subaru was 3rd rate, but thats another story.
