Fluval 204 External Filter.

This filter shifts 420 litres per hr and will cope with a tank up to 200 litres.

If you use undergravel or in tank filters chuck them and use this, not only does it improve the water quality (my tank went from murky to crystal clear) it also means you only have an in and out pipe in the tank so more space for fishy! and you can clean it without upseting the fish!

do you need an undergravel filter for this to work or can you just droop both pipes in the tank?

Cool

I'll answer for tiggs, as I've got one of these beasties..

You just drop the 2 tubes into the tank - one in and one out. I've got mine arranged so the "in pipe" is at the bottom of the tank so shuck up the sit, and the "out pipe" is horizontal along the top to help aeriate (sp??) the water. It works great !!

as dave said.

undergravel filter is a nasty alternative to this- my water was crystal with this and all the cleaning you do is with a gravel cleaner if you need to. (i found that the current it created in the tank was strong enough to keep all bits of food/cr4p in circulation and not settled on the bottom, this means they would end up going down the pipe)

Thumbs up

Hi Tiggs

I'm interested! Fed up with cleaning my daughter's fish tank out every week. Will your gear work OK in a small tank? - it's a couple of gallons, I think.

Cheers
Kav
