OK,
I know it's not a Scoob,
but on behalf of my brother in law please take a look at the following link:
http://atsearch.autotrader.co.uk/www...x=0&search.y=0
I found him this car after he had to get rid of his beemer (change of circumstances forces sale ) anyway it's got genuine mileage and service history from local dealers, and a wee bit of Ice that I helped him install which may or may not be included in the sale.
Only faults I know about are just the usual old age problems, rubber parts etc...
If no-one buys it I may be tempted to buy it as a third car, it really is that good (at this price at any rate!)
It really is a wolf in sheeps clothing and would make a great first hot hatch.
Some info on the 2.0 16v:
http://www.carsurvey.org/review_7006.html
Or if you're seriously interested you can purchase a road test reprint fron Top Gear here: http://reprints.topgear.com/tgmag3.a...=ZX+2%2E0i+16v
It's basically the same engine as the Pug 2.0 16v (S16/GTi-6) and develops c.130-150 BHP depending on age, active rear suspension means it handles like it's on rails and a mate had one from 60k to 140k miles with few major problems.
Thanks for your attention,
Dave

Here's a pic of the interior FYI
Notice the plush velour lumbar support seats, Jaeger Dials, electric passenger mirror (weight saving performance enhancer), electric slide and tilt glass sunroof, front and rear fogs, remote central locking and best of all....a little plastic flap to hide you stereo.
150bhp for a pityful £1500
You know it makes sense!

Here's a short but amusing advert featuring a zx 16v: http://ben1999web.free.fr/zxweb/Presse
C'est bon?
And you can download the original sales brochures (in French unfortunately) here: http://ben1999web.free.fr/zxweb/Modeles/93-94/16V.pdf
http://ben1999web.free.fr/zxweb/Mode..._mod_93_94.pdf
And here's a couple of pics of a similar white one, but with aftermarket alloys:

I've driven one of these and these are hugely underrated cars. I bought my gf a ZX Volcane and its a very good car. The 16v driven much better with better power and excellent handling.
Good luck with the sale as these are cracking cars.

I would avoid BXs like the plague.
Unless you know that the suspension spheres are okay (£250 to replace) and the hydraulic piping everywhere under the car (£300 to replace).
That said, when they go, they are okay, but only okay.
