Ok, here we go again, selling my 94 WRX, this time with pictures. Hopefully
#1
Hi all,
im posting this again cos with a bit of luck (and help from a friend) im going to have some pictures on here tonight, or at the very least a link to them.. sorry for the boring delay.
So then, my car is a silver 94 (L reg) wrx, imported in 2000 and owned by me since then. not wanting to blow my own trumpet (and lets face it, if i could do that id never leave the house, or need a car) but its absolutley immaculate. the paintwork is unfaded and as new, with no scratches and only a couple of stone chips on the front of the bonnet (better to be honest about these things). the interior which is the high wingbacked bucket seat kind is also unmarked and has never been smoked in. theres also impreza floor mats if you like that sort of thing. its done 80,000km's/ 50,000 miles.
its recently been serviced by a main scooby dealer (Greenways) and has had the cambelt changed 16 months ago. i have changed the oil every 1000 miles using only motul oil and original subaru filters.
it has only ever run on optimax and additive, and has never seen any track use. in fact, im far too much of a nervous old fart to even use anything like the potential of the car (just ask darren lloyd at flat four how nice the car is and how much of a doddery old duffer i am).
i have spent a fortune on it (as did the original owner) and have reciepts to show as much.
its got six months tax, and about 8 or 9 months mot, but im happy to mot again cos i know itll pass (always has too).
the list of other modifications are (and ive probably forgotten a few):
fully adjustable shocks and suspension (£2000)
quickshift
17" prodrive p1 OZ graphite alloys with falken tyres and custom locking wheel nuts (two special lockers per wheel. beat that TWOC'ers). If these are not to your liking/ budget theres a choice of two other sets of alloys too (17" Speedline double spoke ultralight jobies that are new and gold or the original scooby 16" ones, both with excellent tyres) if you want, i can adjust the asking price according to which wheels you choose, if this makes a difference. i can always sell the P1? speedlines afterward.
4" decatted stainless fujitsabu exhaust system (imported from japan they have a website, think its called the sport something) not loud, just a perfect gurgle sound. always passes the mot emissions.
STI 5 spolier, colour coded. plus sills, and door mirrors and front splitter, all colour coded.
lightweight bonnet and bootlid
clear repeaters and indicators
new walboro fuel pump from mark at lateral performance (three weeks old)
new pagid disks and pads all round
new clutch master cyclinder
Nardi leather steering wheel
PROVA ecu (also with a website for more info)
lambda link/ boost gauge
start button (i know, i know)
pipercross induction with cold air feed
dump valve (cant remember the make, cost £220)
uprated earth kit
tv and sat navigation with touch sensitive screen and voice activated remote control
kenwood cd head unit with kenwood twelve disk changer and remote control.
kenwood speakers all round, which sound very nice, with neat little tweeters too.
cat 1 laserline alarm.
i also have tonnes of spares that i have bought and never get round to fitting (or tried and did not like), a protek fuel pressure regulator, etc etc etc. oh and a set of 16" subaru alloys with brand new bridgestone potenzas on them to, plus obviously all the OE parts that i have removed to make the above changes.
im looking for about 7 grand for it (less than many of you have suggested, thanks for that by the way, its appreciated)cos of all the extras, but i will entertain serious offers, and as i said moderate the price if the wheels arent an issue. Please however, no more offers from dealers offering to 'do me a favour' by taking it off my hands for a handful of change and some magic beans. or for that matter any more time wasters telling me that they can get a standard one for 5k. im aware of the price of standard ones, the reason im asking more for mine is that a) its had a fortune spent on it, b) its very low mileage and c) is damn near perfect and has been meticulously maintained and serviced by a doddery old fart (thats me by the way), but never raced or thrashed or crashed. and if you go looking for ones with half way near spec as mine youll see that mines actually pretty cheap. as i say im open to offers, but im not keen to give it away to somebody trying to tuck me up just to make a few quid for themselves.
Bottom line: Its loveley, theres nothing wrong with it, theres nothing to do to it and its worth far more than im asking.
thanks for all your interest so far, watch this space please. The pics will be on by tonite with luck.
thanks again.
matt.

Hi Matt
Blimey!!! Very nice mate, you werent exagerating about the condition. I think the wheels would be worth the extra as they well suit the body colour. I have seen much much sh*ter ones than yours priced for lots more , so hopefully you'll find it a deserving new owner!! Dont let no poxy dealer rob you, its the best ive seen for a while.
If I had the cash id have it off you tommorow. Unless youd consider a wife swap?

Hi Mike,
yes i did get your offer, sounds like quite a piece of kit, but in honesty part of the reason that im selling my pride and joy is that i now get a poxy, useless work car, and we dont have the room for another car at home, let alone an enormous panzer-wagon like yours!! best of luck selling it though,it sounds really good.
thanks for your interest matey,
matt.

I am so disgusted at the fact that I bought a near standard 93wrx for £7k in July last year. If only I could have waited and bought yours. Its a deal, its a steal, its the sale of the f****** century.
I would love one of your sets of wheels but unfortunately cant spare any cash at the moment

I know what you mean...and believe me, im a lot more upset about it than you. this is MY car. MY loveley loveley car and somebody else is going to take it away. and im going to have to watch. then they'll put a post up on scoobynet saying "anyone want to see my new car". and i'll look. over and over again. im getting weepy just thinking about it. im going to end up spending the money on anti depressants i just know it.
lousy stupid life. cant somebody just find me another job instead? it'd be much easier and id sulk a lot less too.
<sniff sniff>

feeling sorry for you mate. Life without the scoob will be dull I'm afraid.
However, you'll be £7k better off soon so that will ease the pain a little. I'm just so annoyed at the deal I've missed out on. All the things I'm saving up to buy, your car has! Its just like I want to make mine.

i dont even know what that is... is it a toyota corrola? the four wheel drive turbo carlos sainz number? if so, lucky you, theyre supposed to be very good.
sadly though, ill have to pass as my job problem still remains. as does the sulking, which has now moved onto biblical proportions.
thanks again for all your interest lads.

i know what you mean, they gave me the official company speech when i phoned them about booking the service, but actually when i went down there they were happy to do it as long as nobody from subaru was around. it has to be said however that they werent very helpful ever really, always took longer than they said they would and i would have to chase them loads of times to get anything i wanted or needed. took me six weeks to get a coolant pipe once, and even then it was the wrong one when it arrived. and they once tried to charge me forty quid to change a fuse. i sh*t you not. also, they never call you back when they say the will. of course from what i hear, this is pretty much par for the course with subaru main dealers. but this doesnt make them any less a bunch of a-holes. This aspect of subaru ownership i will not miss. right thats it: rant over.
thanks for the chance to be angry old bloke rather than miserable old bloke. makes a nice change.
Best wishes,
Victor Meldrew.
