Wink

Thankfully don't have a Discovery to PX! (You won't like it, I promise. Bits fall off and the gearbox noise is louder than the noisy engine! Buy a Colorado instead. Lexus build quality and reliability.) But if you give me some details of your Turbo I might be interested in buying it from you.

Do buy a Discovery - absolutely brilliant car - Wifes just got one 4.0 V8 sounds even better than the Scoob. Very refined, lovely interior & it's fun even just reversing out of the drive - I was tempted to get one as well , but this way - best of both worlds. They are so different to drive either one is a joy.

Don't go for a jap 4x4 they have NO character, I wasn't totally convinced about the Disco but the more I drive it (or am driven in it ) the more I like it.

Good Luck

Mick

Unhappy

A very good friend of mine is a LandRover mechanic. You should hear some of the horror stories about these things. Don't think that it's a coincidence that the best selling 4X4's in Austrailia and the Middle East are not LandRovers, they are utterly unreliable and very poorly built. BUY JAP. Soul is worthless when it's back at the dealers being repaired,AGAIN.

Derek - It is no coincidence also that Japan is 'next door' to Australia and Solihul is 1/2 way round the world! - yet some people still love a vehicle with soul and want Land Rovers - there is a pretty strong contingent of Land Rover lovers over there.
You get Land Rover owners clubs in huge numbers, but I haven't heard of a Landcruiser or Shogun owners club!!!We took a Landcruiser to one of the sand islands. Tourists like us and people who used the vehicles as workhorses used Landcruisers. 'Real' 4x4 enthusiasts had Land Rovers

Like with Scoobys, we could have a warm Mondeo or Vectra... but no, we want something special that can become part of the family. SIDC , 2.5 v6 Mondeo lovers club??? - I don't think so We love them, the kids love them. We could save money and repair bills and buy something bland... BUT WE DON'T
People who work anywhere have horror stories, you should hear the ones from my mate who worked at Betabakes making confectionaries

An alternative place to look for vehicles is http://www.findit.co.uk/uk/cars/landrover/discovery.htm
you can also put a wanted ad in.

If you are commited to getting a Discovery, you may find the Discovery Owners club useful. Good forum, but you need to be a member to get on and a good magazine. Only £17 pa - good investment for 1st yr of ownership I think , http://www.discoveryownersclub.com/
If looking at series2 (post '99MY) then www.disco2.com has loads of info.

Cheers
