Hmmm ![Confused](https://www.scoobynet.com/images/smilies/confused.gif)
Ok, you email me then
Basically I asked if you were sure they fitted over the 4-pots as prior to subaru ownership I really wanted those alloys but was told they wouldn't clear the 4-pots on the MY99. I then asked if you would express the tyre wear as a percentage and then I asked the biggy.....how much ![Big Grin](https://www.scoobynet.com/images/smilies/biggrin.gif)
As I said above I'm very interested![Smile](https://www.scoobynet.com/images/smilies/smile.gif)

Just looked up some old threads, it says that ET48's won't clear 4 pots but ET52's as fitted on the rb5's will. Which offset do you have? Were you running them with 4 pots before?

Blitz I've been having the exact same problem all day
Rob tells me he has four-pots fitted and that the alloys clear them. I have an MY99 with the standard OE 4-pots and for all my searching on SN can't find out for sure if these alloys will fit or not - most of the evidence suggests that they won't and that to fit they need the kink in the spoke design like on the RB5. Does anyone know?

There seems to be some confusion - they are ET48 (I checked the stamp on the back) and they do clear standard 4 pots (I know cos I have these brakes and had these wheels on my car).
I beleive, after talking to Prodrive, there is/was a wheel type that looks virtually identical that wont clear 4 pots!
Confusing egh?! But, guaranteed to fit.

Struggling to keep up with all the correspondence & posts!
Forgot to clarify the use of spacers is NOT required nor have the wheels been 'tweeked' to clear.
Will put up a picture of them on the car soon.

Ok its not a massive issue for me as I am still running crappy 2 pots at the mo till I can afford to upgrade them.Just nice to know there is clearance there if needed.
Would like to have a look at them some time, are you going to the highwayman meet on sun? If not I can come around as I live local anyway, (glos).

Pretty sure these wheels do not clear 4 pots. I wanted the same ones some time ago but the dealer wouldn't supply because of this. The RB5 wheel looks pretty similar but is angular at the ends of the spokes to clear the brakes....
I think the 48 number is the offset, this is the correct offset for any Subaru but the spoke design denotes whether your brakes can be cleared.
Hope this helps.

Use search and find Mike Woods (Prodrive) answer on these wheels, as I remember Rebecca had these wheels and wanted 4 pots on her MY97 Cat'!
I remembered the post as I use to have the silver version of this wheel, that I had powder coated in anthracite!!![Wink](https://www.scoobynet.com/images/smilies/wink.gif)
Also I'm sure a piccie with them on a car with 4-pots will also sort it out!

Andy, thanks for all your effort and most helpful comments, even if some people (N1 Span!) don't beleive you (the expert) or me (why would anyone lie about them fitting?) Rob

Since we've attracted experts to this thread would fitting these alloys with the ET48 offset to an MY99 cause any damage/undue stress to any of the componenets of the car? Is the rolling circumfrence (sp?) the same as the standard MY99 wheels?

Obviously this should be in the Wheels, tyres & brake forum, but:
I had some wheels with an offset of ET45 on a MY99 UK car, and with 215/40R17 tyres, they caught the lip of the wheel arch. Only happened when they car was 4 up, and going into and out of roundabouts.
I removed the rubber lip around the wheel arch, which helped!![Smile](https://www.scoobynet.com/images/smilies/smile.gif)
A friend had Speedline wheels with an offset of ET48 on his MY98 wagon, with lowered suspension, and there was no catching issues, even though he was using 215/40R17 tyres and the rubber lip was in place.
I guess the 3mm made a huge difference! In the end I solved the problem by fitting Prodive P1 wheels with an offset of ET53 (IIRC)
