As above, companies such as NewReg may value your plate at a fortune but won't buy it off you. If you get offered half that amount I'd take it. Why not put it on your own car?

I think you'll find the company is'nt offering to buy the plate but sell it for you.It will NEVER sell at that price.I'm sorry to say its worth a couple of hundred quid at best.

My Mate asked NEW Reg to provide a quote for his plate , for a laff

I used to have the number plate NGH 1P, it came with the car,

a company told me they could sell ti for me for £1000, which I thought was optimistic, 3 months later, they did!

No way you will get £2500 for that though. would be impressed if you got £500.

The wifes 'P1USY' was valued at 4 grand on newregtransfers but when asked if they wanted to buy it outright they would only offer 750 quid
