andy_w,

That is a great looking car. any chance of getting some pics of the interior?

Has it standard seats or alcantara?

Cheers
SJ

Thanks SJ. This is the only pic I have of the interior just now:

Seats are standard (blue/black sports seats), and the interior is spotless (never smoked in etc...) - I'll try to get some more pics up tomorrow.

cheers,
Andy

Also, I've had a couple of offers of part exchanges by email, so let me say that I'm not interested on a part exchange, unless you've got an Audi S4 Avant to swap!

Cheers,
Andy

What are the implications of it being an EU import with insurance?
ie. does it have a uk chassis no....if so is there any reason to declare it an import?

Is the odometer/speedo MPH rather than KPH.

Cheers

SJ,

It is a UK model, supplied by a dealer in Holland. This is known as a parallel import. The dealer in Holland just orders the UK model from Subaru in Japan the same way that Subaru UK does. Speedo is in MPH. Everything is exactly the same as it would be on a UK car, except that Subaru UK fit a Thatcham Cat 1 alarm, locking wheel nuts, and, I believe, add extra underseal. My car has locking wheel nuts, supplied by a UK dealer, and the dutch dealer applied extra underseal when the car was prepared for delivery. I have not installed a Cat 1 alarm. The car has a factory fitted immobiliser, which is good enough for most insurers.

Only other difference is the warranty. Subaru UK gives 3 years cover, while my car only came with 1 year, and is therefore not covered anymore. As luck would have it this has made no difference as nothing has ever gone wrong with the car.

Insurance is exactly the same as a UK car. You don't have to declare it as an import.

If you do a search, you'll find loads of info on euro imports.

One other difference is that the sonic blue colour was not available in the UK at the time - Subaru UK reserved that for special editions e.g. P1, Terzo.

Cheers,
Andy

Some more pics taken this afternoon:

The last one shows the exact mileage, 15373, as of 2.16pm 17/2/03, and also indicates for SJ's benefit that the speedo is in MPH

Cheers,
Andy
