Ibiza TDi Sport 180+bhp 300+Lb/ft

There are some more pics here
I bought it totally standard in June 2001 and swapped across the 18's from my old 944S2. It then got lowered 35mm and a K&N filter and was used every day for 21,000 miles until November 2001 when it blew a head gasket.
It had a top end rebuild plus a hybrid turbo, TiAL wastegate, race-spec head gasket, custom remap, intercooler slots and MAF conversion. It also got Koni adjustables and Goodridge hoses and was due to get 'Big Red' front brakes.
I got it back from Bob Watson Engineering on 18th Jan last year. At 1.05bar it had dynoed at 415Nm torque and power wise it lit the tyres up on the rollers at 280bhp every run, but extrapolating the graph to where these engines normally peak (and borne out by how it felt on the road) it made 330bhp approx.
3 1/2 weeks later I holed the sump on something that was lying on the road (dark, 6:15am, didn't see it until too late, bang). Between that and the car having 153k on the clock it was stripped completely and is now lying in bits in my garage. I want to rebuild it as either a 2.8 or 3.0 and use Wills rings and Raceware studs on the head so it can run 1.5 bar but having just moved last summer into the proverbial money-pit I can only justify another several grand on the Porsche anytime soon if I sell the Ibiza and I want it on a track this summer...

AdrianB,
I've been burned before taking a PX, so I'd have to say that I'm not that keen, although I have nothing to drive if I sell the Ibiza as my Alfa 164 smoker runs out of MoT tomorrow...
Let me know a bit more about the 'Scort (email if you like) and I'll give it some thought.
It's really a Golf GTi cab or an MX5 I'm after, but the value is about right.
