You LIFT OFF the acclerator (as brutally as you dare) the car then begins to OVERSTEER- thus the phrase "lift off oversteer"
NB I'll attempt to explain oversteer in simple terms- the back end tries to swap ends with the front like a rear wheel drive car. This is a good thing.

Bugeyes is looking for a new car and this may interest him. He was looking for a suitable (GTI6/Rallye/CTR) part ex against his RB5, which he has now sold.
Find his profile and send him an e-mail, or e mail me your telephone number and I will pass it on.
I will give him a call and tell him about this post either way.
Good luck and BTT

Cheers DogMan, will do.
As far as the lift-off oversteer thing goes, with the final version of the 306gti-6 (which mine is) Peugeot had virtually eliminated it (well as much as you can with any FWD, short wheelbase car). Believe me compared to the 205gti that I once owned, this thing feels like it is on rails!

Forgot to say, that if people keep saying how great the gti-6 is I'll probably keep it
I keep having serious doubts about selling her to get a new WRX. I'm a bit worried I'll regret it as I know I'll never find another gti-6 in this condition once she goes. And I'm not convinced a WRX will be that much faster on my local roads and lanes. Could be an expensive mistake!

Being a 306 Rallye owner myself, I can tell you these things are superb! ![Big Grin](https://www.scoobynet.com/images/smilies/biggrin.gif)
As for lift off oversteer, this has been toned down on the GTi-6 & Rallye by the use of passive rear wheel steering, so you can really hang the back end out and Autocar reckoned it was alomst rwd like!![Wink](https://www.scoobynet.com/images/smilies/wink.gif)
Someone will love this car...
