MY 00 UK Turbo with PPP
#1
Reluctantly I have decided to sell my Scooby due to a change in personal circumstances and the need to release some capital!
I have owned it since January 2002 and it has been regulary serviced by the Subaru Lancaster dealership in Sevenoaks, Kent.
The dealership owned it themselves for a few weeks and the next owner had the Prodrive Performance Pack installed and upgraded the interior to luxurious leather.
The majority of its mileage has accrued on a 70 mile round trip to work. (Non -motorway).
Condition wise it is generally very good but with the inevitable stone chips.
Registered January 2001
2 Previous Owners
Mica Red
PPP giving 246 B.H.P
Leather Interior
43215 miles
Otherwise standard spec
Price £12950
Here's hoping !

Due to a serious rethink on the price and the obvious lack of interest from here and Autotrader etc, I am re-advertising the car at a much lower price.
Now For Sale at £11499.

Its good to have some interest at last.
Here are my answers to your questions.
I'm insured with Tesco and as the PPP is covered by the warranty the premium wasn't any higher (thats what they told me !)
The warranty runs out on the 1 November 2003 as does the MOT.
You mentioned you'd rather have a Prodrive Kit. Is that something different to the Prodrive Performance Pack (PPP) ?
It does not have a tracker but the usual Cat1 alarm.
Trick - What car do you have to sell ?
Cheers

ive had a quote with greenlight as thats who im with now.
They insisted on a tracker, which i was already prepared for anyway.
I need to contact them re: the PPP, and see what extra this makes.
I have a Peugeot 306 GTi6 1999 T.
Trick.

Make sure the insurance company are happy with the fact the extras i.e PPP are fully approved and warranted by Subaru.
They need to understand that this is not an unauthorised enhancement etc.
Thanks for the info on your Pug but this is not something I'm after.
Good luck with your sale. Not much seems to be moving at the moment sadly.

Maggie,
It might be worth checking in the meantime about the tracker while you still own the car, insurance companies only need a little excuse to avoid paying out even if it is an employee of theres who did not follow the script and ask if a tracker was fitted.
However if you have been insured with them for a number of years it is possible this is why you were not asked. I bought my Scooby 3 years ago and insured with Direct Line when trackers werent necessary, since then I understand that new customers to Direct Line are asked for a tracker to be fitted but as an existing customer its never been mentioned in my renewals. I would be reluctant to buy a tracker now as I always toy with changing the car, if I did and bought a new scooby or similar performance car I would defo get one straight away.

I guess Tesco's have changed their policy requirements since I took mine out with them.
Try Greenlight as they quoted the least (no tracker) for a mate of mine and his Scooby. This company are mentioned in the Insurance forum.

Could be that they have changed requirements, its 11 months since I rang Tescos on my last renewal. Im always on the look out every year for a better deal but everyone else including Tesco wanted a tracker. Ill be ringing around a gain in a couple of weeks no doubt. If they have relaxed there requirements then they could be in with a shout as I remember they were relatively cheap for me, around £500.

Richard,
Apologies as I've only just seen your e-mail.
I'll dig out the paperwork and send you details later about what has been replaced and when (tyres etc). It's due for a cambelt change at the next service (45K).

Hi, this might be a stupid question but I am going to ask it anyway!! :P
What sort of average MPG do you get out of your car?
Is it a Full Subaru Service History?
What does the PPP upgrade include?
