yeah its a 12 speed scsi cd burner and 10 rewriter and 40 speed cd rom drive, true 40 speed as well, so the reader a true 40 speed and the cards an adaptec one. call me on 07813 666512 if your interested

PLextor CDrw's are some of the best in the world 
VERY low error rates too
The Adaptec SCSI card is great too - used to use one in an Apple/ProTools setup.
