Morning,

I know these are hard to come buy, so I have snapped up a further two set's of 550's.
Good thing about this is I have got a better deal from the supplier, and can sell them a bit cheaper .
These are used purple injectors with low milage on them.
I would recommend getting them tested and flowed before fitting.

£225 for 4 including postage.

Scott

I have 4 850cc injectors for sale also for £225

Dark Evo,

Seeing as these are Mazda RX7 injectors, of which I have sold and installed plenty, how are you proposing that they be fitted into phase 1 or 2 rails?

While it can certainly be done, I think it's only fair to point out these are not a straight swap. I would be looking for £60 to supply parts needed to fit phase 1 rails, and £30 for phase 2 rails.

For anyone looking to have them cleaned, you should try WGT Auto Developments as they have done plenty for me, and are doing some right now, speak to Pip Gardner. Cleaning and flow testing is about £15 +vat each.

Question

Surely this isn't the case? I took
for phase 1 and 2 fuel rails.
to mean what it says ie they fit not they can be made to fit, I need these for a build which is going on now so can't have a delay whilst a fitting kit is sourced etc.

Vince

Thanks Paul, sound information as always.

I have assumed that someone buying these will know what they are buying so and ask any questions before hand.....

Guy's if you are not happy about having to buy o-rings etc let me know, and I will sell the injectors to someone else.

AFAIK, there are no direct replacement 550's, and if there are i sand corrected.

Paul and Scott YHM

Scott there are definitely straight swap injectors for the phase 1 fuel rail (don't know about the phase 2) but I can see the problem if you weren't aware of this and am sure it was a genuine mistake.

Vince,

No problem,I never deliberatly ommited that they would need spacers.
I have just bought a set of these for my own car, and will indead be buying the parts needed from Paul and getting them flow tested also.

Now that I think about it,I probably should have questioned anyone that just said they will buy them, without asking any questions, but you don't just fit 550cc injectors every day, so as I say I assumed people whould have a good idea of what they were buying.

There is tonnes of information on these injectors on this BBS.

Anyway guy's, I will take this on the chin, just let me know where I stand.

An e-mail sent to someone earlier........

Hi *******,

These are Denso (same a blitz) high impedance side feed 850cc injectors.
I think you might need the o-rings, but no collars to make them fit phase 2 rails.

The two set's of 550's I have are provisionally sold.

I will reply to all e-mails in order they were received, once I find out for definate if the original buyers need direct fitting injectors and not mine. If you guy's had asked me if they were direct fitting and I said yes, then I would be worried!

I would expect to pay around £350-£400 for second hand set of direct fitting 550's, if they are £500 + new, and if someone has some for sale.

I have all the o-rings and stuff required. The 850s are about 5mm shorter that the 550s, so they fit slightly different.

I'm getting the top collars (larger ones) in next week, someone is already waiting on a set (Mike) so I will ammend the order, they are custom made for me so this isn't a problem.

I will updated the injector info thread in due course.

I am interested to know where these came from, but to be honest I'm done with trying to sort out injectors. I will point out however that you also need to get either different connectors or remove the connector polarising tabs ( I did the later). FOr phase 1 & 2 fitment you will need to remove about 1mm off the radius of the top of the injector (the plastic bit) to get the retainer cap to fit and the holes line up. You might get away without doing it, but doesn't take too long to do with a dremel, file or scraper.

I can't honestly recommend using them without cleaning prior to use. And if I were selling some I would certainly check that they open too.

All sold thanks.

The guy I bought them from deosn't know where to get anymore either, so that's all I have i'm affraid, I can't get any more.

He did offer me these 550's though, but I am a bit unsure if they will be suitable because of the colour of the cap?

They look like 550s from a Cosmo 3 rotor engine. The Cosmo ones have a longer alumnium pintle cap on the end of the injecor. If you turn down the flange on the Al pintle cap they will fit too. Otherwise the same dims as the RX7 550s

Thanks Paul,

Ok, from what I can see (service manuals) that the injectors on pre 88 Cosmo's were low imp, and the change was made to all models after 88 to high imp.

There are two different types of purples for the post 88 cosmo's(pre 91)

195500-1370 high imp/square offset
195500-2020 high imp/oval center

Paul, have you experienced the square and oval variations, whay deos this refer to? Will they still fit our rails?

never seen the square connector, only the oval one, which fits the subaru plug if you remove the polarising tabs (connector still latches).
