It should fit your WRX01. How much extra bhp - I don't know is the short answer, any answer would be a guess. I had it fitted to my Sti 7, along with a full decat and the Dawes.
It got 314bhp on the rollers at Powerstation Cheltenham, whereas standard car puts out 265bhp. How much of that was the chip and how much the exhaust is anyones guess.
To fit, there are 8 wires that need soldered into the right place. I would let a specialist with Delta Dash do that part, but I cant imagine it would take more than couple of hours tops.

I just spoke to Dastek (0845 3454045), who sold the chip, and they tell me they are 95% sure it will fit your car. Apparently there were a few 01 WRX's that used the old 2000 model ECU, I didnt know that (and I used to have one).
I just sold the Dawes Device to a guy whose collecting it in 45 minutes, sorry. Jamie Whitfield Racing will do you a nice new one for £50 according to their website.
Let me know what you think.

Sorry m8, I'm not registered for chat. Call me if you want on 07900 828008.
I would think it'll cost less than £100 to fit. I saw it being removed from my car, and it took less than 20 mins to remove it and resolder in the cut connections.

Just remember that a Unichip is designed to be mapped specifically to each individual car.
I wouldnt recommend simply fitting a Unichip that was mapped for another car, even if it was the same model.
£80 is a great price but make sure you take it straight to be mapped for your individual car.
In my experience the best mapper for the Unichip by far is Mark at Owen Developments (www.owendevelopments.co.uk)

5typeR - I spoke to the suppliers today, and they told me it will slot into any 2001 on Subaru or Nissan. Whether it could be remapped for anything else I dont know.

A D15 Unichip for a post 2001 scoob will definately not work on an earlier model scooby.............
It something to do with the Crank Position Sensor Configuration being different and therefore making it totally incompatible.
