MRT TMIC for TD05 motors (pre-'97)
#1
would there be any problems involved in fitting it to a fairly standard MY96 then?
when you say you killed your car what actually happened? Did the pistons let go? i.e. is there a potential for fragments in the core?
mail me offline if you would prefer
also what sort of cost will shipping be?

lol...no potential for fragments, as I didn't blow the motor, I slid into a tree. There are pics at the same yahoo site, you'll see that I ruined a fender, and caused $2500 of damage, which isn't that much, but still led insurance to total the car, since I used an old '94 L as the body of the car. It ruined the UK 17" WRX wheel, STi 4 piston caliper, DBA Gold rotor, tie rod, KYB AGX strut.
The motor is still happily running 350 hp out in Tennessee now, in its 3rd car. The buyer already had an FMIC, so he didn't need the TMIC.
Edit: Here are pics of the fallen Scooby. The damage is actually pretty minimal. It didn't affect the door or the front bumper...just the wheel/fender area. If I used a newer, more valuable car for the project, it wouldn't have been declared a total loss

This is the TMIC on the bottom of this page:
http://www.mrtrally.com.au/performance/docs/PP5_top_inter.pdf
Includes the optional alloy connector pipe, blue silicone hoses, and clamps. Selling for nearly 50% of original price, as I wrecked my 12 second Impreza beast, and am parting out the goodies.
350 pounds or best offer. Buyer pays actual shipping costs, from east coast of United States.
Email me at alloutforjesus@hotmail.com or call me on my mobile, 609-287-9806 I have pics I can email you.
Thanks,
Mark

Here are some pics. I have more, but these two pretty well show the TMIC and alloy connector pipe. The TMIC is off and ready to ship.

Oh, Dizzy, I never did say that there should be no problems fitting this up as long as you have the crooked style TMIC, which was on '93-96 WRX's. It is made to be a direct swap, should take less than 10 minutes to swap out the stocker, and put the new one on. According to the MRT Website, this is a direct bolt on for '91-96 EJ20's, so I'm assuming there were also air/air intercooled EJ20's in '91 and '92, probably Legacy turbos.

I went to my shipper during lunch, and for all you Great Britian folks shipping via Airmail (5-10 days) is the same cost, about 73 pounds.
Here's the breakdown
Shipping: US$95.20
$500 Insurance: US: $13.20
Packaging materials: US$8.25
Total = US$116.65, or about 73 pounds
