Question

A friend of mine is looking to sell his Subaru STI Type R.

He bought it brand new in 1999 from a dealer in Jersey who had imported it direct from Japan. He paid around £24,000 at the time (VAT free price in Jersey so about £28,000 in UK). I think there are around £3,000 of extras including complete stainless steel de-cated exhaust.

It has only done 13,000 miles since new as it is only used as a second car in Jersey. It was carefully run in and has had a few good off island trips such as down to Spain.

The car looks completely immaculate and as new condition. It is finished in gun metal titanium colour.

He needs to sell it now due to changes in personal circumstances etc.

What would be a fair price for it?

And is anyone on here interested?

(For the poor chap had never heard of Scoobynet so I told him to get on here soon.)

Thanks for reply.

I was thinking around £15k as well.

Sorry I didn't get any digital pics as I'd just used all my battery power taking shots of ChristianR blasting down the sprint course. My mates car was parked up the road and looked immaculate and really stood out from all the other cars around. I'll ask him if he has any photos if not I'll try to sort something out for him.

I would love to buy it if I had the money but I'm in a similar situation to him in that I need to get funds together for a house purchase so can't justify spending on more toys.
