This is a rare chance to bid on a fantastic amplifier from Musical Fidelity. It has won countless awards from top magazines around the world.
The A3 has a dual mono configuration, with a separate power transformer for each power amp, and separate windings for the preamp and remote control. The cutting-edge printed circuit board design uses double-sided, plate-through-holes PCBs, with an advanced ground plane configuration to ensure astonishing performance. Inputs are switched via relay. Phono MM/MC stage is standard. The A's rated power is 85 watts per channel, but it will deliver sustained peak powers of 110 watts. In other words, the A3 will deliver plenty of peak current, loads of peak volts and will be unconditionally stable into any load. The front panel is machined, heavy, milspec, extruded aluminium with a bright silver finish, similar to the X-A Family. ***** are machined of solid aluminium with gold-plated detailing.
Specifications:
Power output : 85 watts per channel into 8 Ohms (19dBW), 170 watts per channel into 4 Ohms
THD : <0.008% at 1kHz
Frequency response : 1OHz - 20kHz +/- 0.5dB
Inputs : MM/MC phono, five line
Input sensitivity : MM phono: 3.5mV 47 kOhms, MC phono: 350uV, Line inputs: 300mV 47 kOhms
S/N ratio line inputs : -90dB unweighted, -1OOdB 'A' weighted
S/N ratio MM phono : -65dB unweighted, -75dB 'A' weighted
S/N ratio MC phono : -66dB unweighted, -73dB 'A' weighted
Dimensions : 440 x 92 x 400mm (W x H x D), Height includes feet, Depth includes terminals
Power consumption : 400 watts
Features
Dual mono power amps
Separate transformer windings for preamp
Separate windings for digital remote control electronics
Full remote control
High quality phono MM/MC stage as standard Very low high-frequency distortion up to 60kHz
The amplifiier is boxed with intructions and ofcourse the remote control.
ow comes the Poer Amplifier:
The bass is rich and weighty, and the treble clean and clear, but most impressive is the way the whole frequency range is held together, sounding integrated without undue emphasis on any part of the range...a presentation balanced from low bass to the highest treble with the result that it holds together extremely well." Specification
Power output (0.5% distortion) : 120 watts per channel into 8 Ohms, 210 watts per channel into 4 Ohms
THD 20Hz-20KHz : <0.005% at 1KHz 'A' weighted
Frequency response : 10Hz-20KHz+/-0.5dB, 10Hz-100KHz+/-2dB
Channel separation : >85dB 20Hz-20kHz
Input sensitivity : 1000mV
Input impedance : 31KOhm
S/N ratio : >-98dB 'A' weighted (Ref 1W), >-120dB 'A' weighted (full output)
Power consumption : 600W maximum
Dimensions (mm) : Amplifier 440 x 95 x 400 (W x H x D) (Height includes feet, depth includes terminals)
Weight : 15kg
Features
Dual mono design. - Ensures perfect imaging and maximum dynamic attack. State of the art sound.
Choke regulated power supply. - Almost complete absence of signal or power supply 'sawtooth' residual. This leads to incredibly clean sound with extraordinary resolution of low level detail.
Loop out facility. - Allows easy 'daisy chaining' of A3cr for bi- or tri-amping, or home cinema use with existing setup.
Very high peak current, low output impedance and exceptional stability margins. - Will drive any loudspeaker with ease.
I think thats the lot. If anyone is interested please email me.
Many thanks
