This is a classic now, isnt it? I remember these creaming along the road at warp speed.

Good luck with the sale mate!

Davyboy,

Do you have any idea what Tickford is?
I think one of the best things about cars like the tickford maestro is no one knows how quick they are.

I'm sure I read somewhere these are classic now.

Was it not the constant news footage of 'joyriders' the 80s....showing a maestro doing handbrake turns on a council estate that made the maestro the icon it is today?

Good luck with the sale...

It was a joke, I thought it was funny anyway.

Yes I have heard of Tickford, they helped make that lovely looking capri right

BTT good luck with the sale.

I put a winkie smiley on to and I get accused of PMT - surely PMT smiley is

Used to love Maestro Turbos - there was a rapid black and red one when I lived in Middlesbrough - was featured in Fast Car many moons ago.

They are a good and quick car, its just shaking off the 'Maestro' image thats the problem.

Sorry to see it go, I love the car but I would admit, its not my dream car so must move on!

Talking

built my own one of these about 6 years ago
using the montego turbo engine in a 2.0 mg maestro
body
upped boost etc
very very quick(2.0 i gearbox less top end mucho accel.)
upset a few local cossie boys
much under-rated car
one of the police forces wouldnt let the lady drivers use the montego version when it came out
(fastest 4 door production car at the time ithink)
good luck with the sale

Well, I work for an insurance company an with help the best quote I got was from 'Carol Nash' on a limitied mileage. It was around £300. But I am 29 and have full no claims. Worth giving them a shot, very competitive for Bikes and Cars.

Car is in Essex, Near Chelmsford.

There arn't that many left now, a good few of the 505 made have been written of by joyriders with no skills. They have a lot of Torque steer which is a bit of a job to handle.
