Hi Dan
We have taken info from Subaru on a lot of information and all we keep hearing is how wrong it all is - do you have any idea of what the real figure is likely to be - we have never timed her - when we open her up we tend to be too busy with steering - also too much fun to bother looking at a stop watch!!!

Topgear and Auto Car apprantly got 5's in the wet when they tested a MY97, Evo got run a 5.4 with slight wheel spin using a MY98 Facelift. So I've gone for Subaru figures, 5.8 was the figure in the original brochure.
Cheers
Dan

Have you got any pics, if so, send em over and I'll host them for you.
Selling wise, maybe get it serviced if its due soon, and maybe get it HPI'd, always installs confidence in buyers.
Also give it a full top to bottom wash and polish.
Erm put it on Auto Trader, may Top Marque.
Good luck and BTTT

Thanks - do you know how we get an HPI - we have have owned the cra and have the docs proving the purchase and ownership - is this not enough?
We will try Autotrader - can anyone tell me if the price is set about right for a quick sale for a limited edition car?

The HPI Check offers used car buyers protection against the risk of buying a car with a fraudulent history. It will advise whether a car you are thinking of buying is currently recorded as stolen, has been 'written-off' by an insurance company or is subject to an outstanding finance agreement. In addition, the HPI Check includes a Mileage Check, MOT Certificate Check and a Parker's Valuation
The Truth Behind Used Cars
"It's an essential part of the used car buying process"
The HPI Check has been used by the reputable motor trade for more than 60 years and was launched in 1993 to protect buyers in the private used car market. HPI works closely with the Police, the Association for British Insurers, the DVLA, finance and auction houses as well as customs and excise, local government and the motor trade. In addition, it has close ties with the Citizen's Advice Bureaux and Trading Standards Offices to ensure that consumers are given a fair deal in the private used car market.

Is it really worth HPi-ing it if you are the seller? As a buyer I'd always want to do it myself rather than accept someone elses.
Agree on the service thing, if its just been serviced and has a recent MOT its going to be more saleable.

I think its worth the seller HPI'ing as it proves there's nothing to hide about the car history.
Selling wise, give it a good clean, if you get people call up to view make sure you ask them if they've had an insurance quote for the car first as some people don't know how much it costs to insure a Scooby.
Ask them if they wish to buy it ask how they are going to pay for it, maybe ask for proof of funds this should put off "tyre kickers" and "test pilots".
For viewings arrange to meet at a busy place, don't meet at your home address as its a bit of an advert to car thieves otherwise.
Obvious stuff, like don't let them drive it alone, and maybe take a mate along as a bit of protection.
Think thats it
Good luck mate

Thanks Dan - would not have thought of some of that - cheers - did wonder how I stopped idiots from testing her - I can imagine a lot of people would like to at least drive her, although I understand it - I dont want them having their track day in my car...without full comp insurance
