Renault Extra Van - going cheap with good reason
#1
R-reg Renault Extra van in white. 1.9 diesel (nat. asp.). Done 67k miles.
£999 ono.
The missus bought this in January to carry her singing equipment around in as it is an ideal size. However in May the head gasket went as a result of an earlier repair by the shoddy garage we bought it off. I have just spent £950 on having the engine rebuilt (reconditioned head, new cam belt, new engine mount plus all the ancillaries), however it now needs a windscreen wiper module and steering rack, plus the rear axle isn't too healthy either (wheels are solid but don't run true).
We have the receipts for the work and happy to declare all this because the garage **** on us and we don't want anyone to suffer the same! (The muppets deny all responsibility even though they are legally responsible!).
I have no idea how the damn garage got it through an MOT but they did! It isn't due until next Jan!
Don't dispair! All that work will add up to about £800 and after that you will have virtually a new van!
Vikki (the better half) is absolutely fed up of it and we can't afford to pay any more money (it cost £2k to buy in Jan!).
It would make a good van however Vikki has now got another vehicle on finance and has accepted that this was just unlucky for her.
£999 plus a bit of work. Anyone interested?
