Hi Steve,

TD quoted over £500 for a new core.
Not sure who else can fit new cores in the UK @ a cheaper price?

I havent got the money to get a new core for it.

Hi,

If it's only a few months old why does it need a new core. Im going to be doing a front entry conversion on my TD05 soon but may be interested in this. I did think that the VF turbos weren't serviceable tho? What exactly has gone?

Cheers,

Tony.

Hi Tone,

The turbo has been diagnosed as having been overboosting on several occasions which has caused the cores to need replacing.
Looks like it was the result of some hard track days which has put too much strain on the turbo in it's early life.
Symtoms were oil burning and smoke from exhaust and thought it might just have been needing the oil seals replaced.
