BMW E30 Sport

Not wanting to be pedantic or anything but I think the colour is Diamond black like my old one (schwartz means black in German!)
Interesting fact about the 'only in 2 door' comment, as I almost bought a J plate 4 door - had the right spec and everything, it was even on the log book
Anyway good look with the sale.

V-techland - the E36 was into production by the time J plates came out, the four door you saw might have been some kind of rare run-out special. It should have had a different bodykit to mine, with large-ish body side mouldings like on this one. I don't think I've ever seen those mouldings for a four-door, but I guess it's possible BMW made a few if they were desperate to empty their parts bin of the other Sport-specific parts !

Only bought it a couple of moneths ago, but we're now buying a house so some toys have to go This description is as honest as I can be, if anyone wants more photos or any other detail, just ask.
Good points:
1) Set of five genuine Alpina wheels (with four centre caps, though they're not shown in the photos). They're the extra-rare staggered 7" front / 8" rear combo. A set of four 7" recently sold on ebay for £500, so the wheels alone here are worth about £600.
2) Very good interior. No rips, cuts, scuffs, etc, which is very unusual. Steering wheel isn't great, but it's a real Alpina one.
3) De-locked for security, new Cobra remote alarm/immobiliser fitted in January at a cost of £400.
4) Almost new P-Zero Assymetricos on the front (January).
5) Just fitted Goodridge braided hoses (but see bad point #2 below)
6) A fair amount of history including *every* MOT. Mileage is 116k. Service book stamped up to 100k miles.
7) Later style rear spoiler.
8) Those headlight eyebrows have been removed :-)
Bad points:
1) One of the Alpinas (the spare) needs a repair, slight ding in the rim. Don't think it's buckled.
2) Brakes are still a bit mushy, despite new hoses and new pads on the front.
3) Gearbox is noisy in neutral when hot. I understand this is a common E30 thing and is non-terminal.
4) Some rust on the rear arches. Again, non-terminal, but it would need fixing if you planned keeping it for a while.
5) Rear tyres are nasty no-name things. They need to be finished off and replaced with something better.
Pictures - front, rear, side, interior.
Asking £1750 as-is or £1500 with standard BBS rims in place of the Alpinas. I'm in Surbiton, Surrey.

I had one of those a while back and I must say, it's probably the best car I've ever had! (Besides the Subarus which I've previously owned and still have of course)
They are very mean machines, pulls like a train and even now, still gives a lot of modern cars a run for its money!
£2k ain't dear IMHO and is a bargain for someone who wants a toy.
BTTT for you matey and hope you'll get it sold soon.

Lot of Motor for the money!. Cracking cars, had a E30 325I with Superchips a long time ago, which sounded great, and gave most machinery a run for its money.
Cheap alternative to a E30 M3, and at least you get the stearing wheel on the right side.
BTTT for ya.

Hi Shifty, you have a good login name for someone who is driving quickly but not for a seller! LOL
You haven't mentioned some fundimentals, such as:
Age
Colour
Leather or cloth
2 or 4 door
Duration of MOT
Duration of Tax
No of owners
I used to have a mint (facelift) Black sport with black leather! lowered (as in on the deck) set of 18" wheels and a custom Powerflow stainless. I regeret the day I sold that car so I could be intersted

OK, to answer the questions with a bit more detail:
Age - first registered 01/01/87
Colour - Schwartz Black, which is more like a very dark gunmetal.
Leather or cloth - Both ! Also now certain that the bolsters have been re-trimmed at some point.
2 or 4 door - Two, the 325i Sport was only ever made as a two door.
Duration of MOT - until October.
Duration of Tax - until end of November.
No of owners - not sure off the top of my head, but several.
Cheers,
Steve.

V-techland - I could have sworn the sticker in the engine bay says something that looks like "Schwartz Black". Oh well !
M535I - Try clicking on the links in my first post....
I've also scanned in a contemporary road test of the Mk1 Sport -
page 1, 2, 3, 4. Whoever buys the car can have the magazine for free :-)

Steve, its a valid point + well made
But there is another one local to me! its a 4 door in Zinnobar Red and its on a G plate
My Black one was a phase two with the newer body mouldings (not the squarer side sill skirts mk 1 like yours) and it honestly looks the same (as did the silver J plate) just with some rear doors. I never was that interested because as a pureist why would anyone want the four door? (familymen aside of course)
Anyway back to the point - good luck for a speedy sale

what happened reference the 4dr sport was this, only genuine 325i sports were 2dr with all the sport trim and body kit with the anthrasite roof lining. the 4dr versions were 325i's with the sport pack fitted as they did the same bodykit as the sport for the 4dr, these could be factory fitted if required when ordered the 4dr was never available with the dark headlining as it was a sport part only,
so to recap 2dr are genuine sport's
4dr's are sport packed up 325i's
hope this clears up a few querries just another qurp on this is they did the same body kit sport type for the touring as well....

Kiss my **** Trolly!!! It ain't mt fault mine had a sticky slipper It went about as well as your 323! i.e. on grass only
Oh well I'm seriously considering another one now and this time the test drive will be purely to make sure the Feckin diff works!!! I'd like a convertable but they still cost quite a lot for what they are - + if its unreliable then = £big
I've been offered a nice late J plate in Lachs silver with 70k miles which i'm toying with the idea of owning
Sorry for the thread Hi - jack so a free bttt for ya
