****** P R I C E R E D U C E D T O £ 5 , 5 0 0 ******
I am reluctantly selling my Impreza and someone is going to get a bargain.
Reasons for sale:
I have too many cars – M3, Track prepared Peugeot 205, Impreza, Sapphire Cosworth – the latter 2 sadly have to go
I have too much debt for the reasons above : )
I need to raise cash as I have the chance to buy a rebuilt Quaife 6 speed sequential gearbox for my 205 and it is going to cost me a small fortune
I bought the Impreza before I got my M3 and because I was bored waiting for my 205 between all the work which it has had done on it – I’ve enjoyed the Impreza enormously but it has to go
The Car:
is a 1994 Subaru Impreza Type RA in white
I purchased it on the 15th February 2003 from an independent import specialist and the car had approximately 76,000 km on the clock before the conversion and its since covered just over 4,000 miles.
I’m not an expert on the various different models, but I believe that being a 1994 model, it is a very early Type RA – it does not have the roof vent or the manually adjustable diff, but it does have the close ratio gearbox and the uprated suspension and the manually operated water spray intercooler.
As far as I can make out, this particular model is 240 bhp and the engine has not been modified or played with – as far as I know, the only modification under the bonnet is a K&N induction kit.
The bodywork and paint are in very good condition – not mint, but only a few minor blemishes all of which can be put right, ie one or two dimples, no dents.
The only downside is that both foglamp lenses are cracked.
The interior is also in very good to excellent condition with uprated seats.
Mechanically the car is in excellent condition with no known faults at all. The engine does not produce any smoke, either at start up or under accelaration.
The wheels are Compomotive 16” alloys finished in white – they are in excellent condition other than the lacquer is peeling.
The car is fitted with a Stainless Steel full HKS exhaust system, and has had a partial decat, leaving one cat in place.
There are a couple of extra HKS gauges mounted on the dashboard.
The car is wearing some Sti badges and Sti mudflaps, but is not an Sti version.
The car has a Jap spec Kenwood CD/Tape/Radio but has been fitted with a frequency expander and the previous Japanese owner also fitted a couple of egg tweeters.
The car has mainly been used for pleasure on the road, but I have used it a 3 track days – 2 full days at the Brands Hatch full GP circuit and 1 short evening session at the Brands Hatch Indy Circuit.
I have had substantial work carried out on the car within the last few thousand miles by AB Motorsport of Coventry who carry out all of the work on my 205.
This is receipted for £1,908.22 including VAT on the 28th March 2003, and the work comprised:
Oil (Synthetic) & Oil and Fuel Filters Changed, Spark Plugs changed and full service
K&N Induction Kit
Helix Sports clutch
Black Diamond Combi Brake Discs
Mintex 1144 brake pads
Dot 5.1 Brake Fluid
De-cat to 1 pipe
Mesh fitted to front grille
4 new Toyo Proxis T1-S Tyres
At the same time, I also had a Toad Compact Thatcham 1 Alarm/Immobiliser fitted by an approved Toad Installation Company, and have the Certificate of Fitment, and I had Central Locking fitted to interface with the security system.
The windscreen was also replaced on the 10th June 2003 by RAC Auto Windscreens.
Because the car has done the 3 trackdays, I am replacing all tyres again before the car is sold, and replacing the Mintex 1144 pads and draining the fluid and replacing with new Dot 5.1 fluid.
Road Fund Licence:
The car is taxed until 31st July 2004 and this will be left on the car.
MOT:
I do not have the MOT Certificate in front of me right now, but it will expire on or just before the 15th February 2004 as the car was supplied to me with a full years MOT when I purchased it.
Now for the best bit: the price.
I run my own business, and don’t have time to show dozens of buyers around the car and try to extract the last penny out of it.
With my ongoing 205 project, I would rather be confident in pitching the price so that the first knowledgeable viewer will see the car and realise that it is a good package at a competitive price.
I also realise that despite spending a substantial amount of money on it, cars are not an “investment” and I will lose most of what I have put into it.
As such, I am asking £6,200.00 for the car WITH the Tax Disc AND 4 NEW quality brand tyres or £5,800 if you prefer to source and spec your own tyres. I am a private seller.
Unless anyone can say hand on heart that my price expectation is not extremely competitive, then I am not prepared to accept any offers.
The car can be viewed in either of the following areas: Hornchurch Essex, Palmers Green N13, or Cheshunt Herts.
Although I am keen to sell quickly, I am happy for any viewing with no pressure, and for test drives for anyone who seems sensible who can produce a Certificate of Motor Insurance allowing them to drive other cars for Third Party cover and a Valid Full UK Drivers Licence.
I feel that I can say hand on heart that I have described the car honestly and anyone viewing would not be disappointed.
I can be contacted on 020 8882 4844 at my office most days best between 9.30am and 5.30pm, or on 07966 476 020 on my mobile – leave a message if its not switched on, and I WILL phone you back as soon as I pick up your message.
I can also be contacted by E-mail at Rmonster@ntlworld.com although it might take a day for me to reply as I only check my email in the evenings.
I will try to post up some pics of the car later, but can email pics to anyone who wants them in the meantime.
Cheers
Richard
PS: You can also contact me if you’re interested in a 2wd Sapphire Cosworth for circa £2,800 : )

Mellow: Thanks for the e-mail, but not quite what I'm looking for now.
RRH: Thanks for the bump.... and yes, I've enjoyed my early RA too.... gives my E46 M3 a good run for its money, at least up until 60mph, and especially for a car 1/7th of its value![Smile](https://www.scoobynet.com/images/smilies/smile.gif)
Cheers
Richard
NB: The car has always been warmed up and down properly since I've had it, and always been run on Optimax.

BTT for the morning
and just to add that the car has air-conditioning, pulls to 140mph at 7,500 revs, but as with most Scoobs, all the fun is at (almost) non licence loosing speeds.
Cheers

PRICE REDUCTION!!!
I've had a few e-mails now thanks.
I've now edited the original post as the prices are reduced and the same deal is on offer to everyone.
£5,800 without new tyres
£6,200 with new tyres
absolutely no offers, as this baby is now priced to sell and will be a genuine bargain to the first person to come and pay me cash and drive away with a great car.
Crikey, I'm starting to sound like a dealer![Wink](https://www.scoobynet.com/images/smilies/wink.gif)

Won't go below the prices now advertised.
I have a few people interested now, who are trying to sell their own cars who might put down a securing deposit after viewing which is fine by me, as I don't need to sell the car for 3 or 4 weeks.
The brakes have been done today, and if it doesn't sell here by next week, it'll go in the Autotrader for £6,500, ie more than I'm asking here, as I genuinely believe that its worth it.
Cheers

hehe...
I don't blame you for trying mate, but £5,800 without new tyres or £6,200 with brand new decent brand tyres is almost giving the car away already.
Especially as its only 2 weeks into a years road tax - £165 worth, and is MOT'd until 31/1/04.
No hard feelings and good luck trying to find a better one for the same or less money.
Cheers
