MY99/00 ECU remapped to TEK1 for improved drivability and performance.
This ECU is much improved Vs an AE802 and a slight improvment over an AE801 with better fuelling and a touch more boost.

What this ECU does have tho' is an ECUTEK Liscence installed.
This will enable the mapper to upgrade to TEK2 or 3 without having to charge the Liscence fee (which get's paid to ECUTEK).

I have been quoted a £300 reduction on a remap, if this ECU is used as the base i.e £350+VAT instead of £650+VAT.

Price £200 with exchange AE800/AE801/AE802
OR £250 outright.

Both prices include 'Special Delivery Postage'.

O.K no takers yet, so lets talk perfromance figures :

Vehicle : Subaru Impreza MY00
Modification : ITG Filter, Decat Centre, TSL Grp'N' BackBox, Standard downpipe.
ECU : Standard AE802
Performance : 226.5BHP @ 6380rpm / 210lb/ft

Same Vehicle, Same Rolling Road
ECU : AE802 Remapped to TEK1 by Merv @ PE
Performance : 248BHP @ 6400rpm / 218lb/ft

And as mentioned above the TEK1 can be taken to TEK2 or 3 at a considerable saving.

OR
You want to pick up a TEK2 2nd hand, the cost's are obviously alot different.

Question

Will it make much of a difference to my car - MY00 standard apart from a ITG filter and scoobysport backbox - and will it make the thing even less economical?

Cheers

ScoobyDaz,

If you have a standard Ae802 fitted, which an MY00 probably has, then yes. It should give similar improvements to those detailed abaove i.e 20 more BHP and a bit more torque.

An Ae801 will give improvements over an Ae802 (there's plenty of other topics on here about that subject) and this ECU is slightly better then an Ae801 with the added bonus of a pre-installed ECUTEK Liscence, should you wish to go further at a later date.

Cheers for the reply - Do you know if it will make the car much more thirsty (already having problems hiding the fuel consumption from the wife)

Cheers

Fuel Consumption isn't really altered...may be a little better at Full Throttle as it is a little leaner.

Hi Scott,

Even though you say this would cost about £350+vat to get upgraded to a Tek 2 cos of the license, it has still worked out better for you to buy Peccys (in another thread) Tek 2 re-map rather than get yours re-mapped. I may be way of the mark here and apologise if i am, but if i was interested in a Tek 2 i would be better of getting one of them rather than buying your Tek 1 and getting it re-mapped as you suggest in this post, unless the price was dropped a bit.

Selling it the way you are seems an expensive way of getting a Tek 2.

I am considering one of these options at the moment you see, so i'm not just disputing your sale just working out figures.

No offence meant mate.

Scott YHM.

James.
