Bought this!!!!! Why do you never realise at the time? Engine bay looks immaculate.
Get it home, every panel dinted when looked properly, overheated on way home, next day no ignition light, rev counter etc. (Checked fuses, changed ignition relay, traced all wiring back, even auto electrician can't suss it, ANY IDEAS), had remains, of tow bar?? taken off now to reveal how much rust????
Nasty respray, look closely can see it flaking off.
Why do you never notice these things when you go to buy a car? Or is it just me am I totally blind?....... JUST A WARNING!!(is it your heart overpowering your mind? or some toss like that!)
RSOC member? Why does that always make you think it will be a good car?
Five grand I must have been so P1555ED!!!!!!!
He must be P1555ing himself.

shame, looks a great car in the pics, as for the paint, well white is a hard colour to spot the bad bids at the best of times so i dont blame ya on that one
as for electrical well it is an old car, maybe he fault wasnt there when ya bought it.
but yes soo true what ya say, depends on ya mood i find, have a spliff before viewing and you will be lookin at the thing for fookin hrs lol

Cos the strange thing is about a P1, you can't park it anywhere.(Well you can but it might not be there when you come back!)
I do average of over 400 miles a week to and from work, if I put this mileage on the car it ends up de-valuing. I know that sounds stupid, it sounds like we can't enjoy the car, which is what we thought. (Was Considering selling it, until you drive it!!).
Got cossie cos our second car was Frontera, totally boring!!

I know hindsight is a wonderful thing, but why don't you take the seller to the small claims court. Assuming it was a private seller, it is still a requirement that advert text is accurate.

Its a Ford and its old you should have known better
All joking aside if you were after something in VGC you would have to up your budget a bit and get a minter they are out there trust me.
If you ever buy another ask the RSOC cossie register about cars for sale he will point you in the right direction.

Un lucky M8. Still luv the Saph's but glad I didn't buy this one. They are now very old cars and FORD, and unless they have had full bare metal resprays and full engine build I wouldn't touch one with a barge pole anymore.
Check for rust around suspension mounts top and bottom, these can rust through, and fall off.!. My last Cossie had some extensive welding work done to the chassy and suspension mounts as a result of stripping back the paint for respray only to show all sorts of nastys.!

I think I know the person who had this car before from my old RS days, he used to have a VGC Fiesta RS Turbo if I`m not mistaken, he never came across as the dishonest type.
Just goes to show doesnt it...trust no boger!

Not sure if it helps but just been looking on www.rallyusedparts.co.uk and in the 'parts' section there is:
'Technicians disc, windows 98 thru to xp. V. extensive disc containing fault finding, motorsport apps, a bargain for anyone running Escort or Sierra cosworth. Easy to use and very informative. No more pulling your hair out tracing a problem!'
From memory this has got a good section on wiring probs - and its only a tenner !!!
Happy hunting

This is my 3rd cossie don't know what it is about them, cult status, tuneability? I don't know, I just like em, but it's got nothing on the P1...(at the moment!).
Maybe I should have got another sub as an every day car instead.....In fact I should have!

Closely inspect the wiring loom below the battery, it is a common problem for the battery to leak acid onto the loom to cause allsorts of problems if this is the cause then it is a very simple repair with a soldering iron.
