I have just helped my brother buy the above car but after phoning around for insurance he has decided to concentrate on his other project (Manta V8 Turbo!!!)

Car is 1998 S plate, saloon in red and has full Subaru service history. Last service was August of this year. It is completely standard, in excellent condition with a mint interior.

The logbook says two previous owners but this is the same person who had the car as a company car and then changed companies. There will be a third person which is Mark, my brother.

As the car has been used as a company car it has high mileage but this has been taken into account with the price. If anyone would like pics or any other information then please ask. All enquiries welcome but please no time wasters or discussion on price.

Looking for £6250 ovno. You can email me: ipayne@millfield-partnership.co.uk or call me 07811 190400

Or my brothers details: v8nutter@hotmail.com or call him 07970 988654 (his name is Mark)

Cheers
Ian

edited to change price...

Don't be put off by the mileage folks, not at this price. I have a MY98 with 95k miles that runs sweet as a nut. As long as you check for piston slap and that the clutch is OK, which presumably are both OK with this car being fully serviced, you can't go far wrong. Don't forget it will have had the big service at 90k with new cambelts etc.

Definitely worth looking at IMHO.

BTTT for you Ian

ps. I have no connection with Ian, or his brother blah blah.......

I am by no means a technical expert, but it should be very obvious - start the car up, and if you hear a loud clattering sound that rises and falls in line with engine revs, and can still be heard even when the engine is warm, chances are its piston slap. There's a thread knocking around on Scoobynet somewhere with a sound file attached, which is really useful.

Best of luck guys

No probs Ian - let me know when you sell the car, or no longer need the pics hosted so I can remove. No hurry, just let me know.

Tip top!!

Someone must know someone that wants a cheap later spec scoob?? The mileage does not reflect the condition of the car in any way... Oil is cleaner than a childrens nursery rhyme
