What the hell do these mats fit - revised!!
#1
I recently purchased a set of 'Prodrive' mats from someone on this BBS. I was assured that they would fit my 'Classic'. Well I have a MY2000 and they are nowhere near to fitting!
Here is a pic of the Drivers Side Mat:
Prodrive Drivers Mat
I'm going to throw down a challenge to all the people on this board to try and find what car they would actually fit. I have been trying for over 2 weeks now and not had any luck so far!
If anyone can help I would be really grateful. Also, if anyone would like to buy the set of mats (2 front, 2 rear) then please let me know. I only want £30 for them (that's what I paid), + postage.
Cheers guys and gals!

Spikey,
I did the same thing and discovered they don't fit my classic properly either, I think they are probably meant for a 2 door car such as the P1.
Can't decide what to do with mine, keep them and put up with the poor fit, attack them with a stanley knife and make them fit or sell them.

Hi PeteT
Just saw your post.
So can I assume that you got yours from the same person?
His name was Dan and his email is:
eukscooby@hotmail.com
Apparently he is away on holiday at the moment...... see this thread!!
http://www.scoobynet.co.uk/bbs/thread.asp?threadid=257577
I guess there are a LOT of people who have found they don't fit.
I suggest we just all email him and demand a full refund!!

I bought some from bbs recently too, the guy said he had 9 sets at first but then came back with only five, is this the same sell. Did you mats come with a card in saying from the scooby clinic in Derbyshire or did I buy from someone else?

It does souund like they are only 2dr fitment. I have prodive mats in my TypeR and they fit very well.
If you cannot fit them I suggest you email all the Type R owners you can find and offer them. Alternatively advertise them in Ebay.
I would buy a new set myself, but I already have a spare set of fronts.

IMHO there not that bad, the rears fit fine and the fronts are just a little too long as it goes under the seat instead of lodging in the groove it overhangs a bit. Personaly from appearance they look great.
I was quoted £65 +VAT from Subaru for the same mat set, granted they would have fit perfectly but personally paying only £25 for a slight imperfection was still worth it.
However I do share your views that it was out of order to sell them as classic fit when they appear to for the P1. So I suppose it was technically right as P1 is classic shaped-ish but still a little bit of a fib!!!

I posted on the original thread saying that the mats would not fit 4 door UK cars. They are P1 specific mats.
I bought a set when I had my 4 dr and discovered they wouldn't fit but fortunately the dealer took them back.
I now have a P1 and need a new set of mats. If anyone wants to sell theirs on then let me know!!

They fit mine and my mates classic just fine...they go further up the foot well than the standard mats but thats great for me less carpet to damage......This guy aint a scammer though.....approach him with your concerns.....He didn't know me from Adam and we chatted for ages really freindly and I met his wife and kids....

I bought some too, they dont fit perfect but for the money they`re not that bad, I`ll just put up with mine but I can see why you`re annoyed & disapointed as I was when they arrived.

I'm pretty cool with it actually. If they had cost me a lot more than I would have been pretty p****d off!
I guess I have learnt a valuable lesson when buying something that I have not seen!

I got a set and was quite happy with them, but i can understand people being annoyed. The bloke who sold them is sound, i was talking with him for ages and he was a genuine guy. I think if there is a mistake it wasnt intentional.

Right guys, firstly mats...when i was offered these mats various people had got sets already and were very happy with them ( mostly classic four door shape), i said `they seem really good value i will put them on scoobynet and give people the chance to buy quality mats at a third of the cost`
I have met a lot of people at my house and at convenient places for them and sold all the mats i had. All the people i have met are really nice folk..
I am not a business and thought they where damn good value, i get back from my hols and find a few people winging about the fit,
and making out i am a pikey rip-off merchant.
If they are really really really that bad and you cannot live with them for £30 qud let me know!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

As for bootmats, i have got one in mine (my98 version 4 STI) and it fits WELL!!
They dont fit a wagon but it is a very close fit in a new shape,
now...you guys tell me...is my boot gonna be different to a my93/94/95/96/97/99 classic four door...or has the 2 door got a different boot, before some of you get your tar and chicken feathers out i would like to know.
i think they are bloody great and save your boot from getting wrecked.

Hi
Just had an interesting read about this thread. I have the same boot carpet and it came with my car when I bought it. Fits no problem but my question is this:
Is the floor mats mentioned the same material as the boot mat in the picture? If so, does anyone still have a set of those mentioned floor mats?
Can someone e-mail me if they have any for sale thanks
