no he wont mate, the life time subscription as with any other subscription from Trackstar is only valid whilst YOU own the car.

What the buyer will get is a Trackstar system that will be de activated until he/she pays a new subscription to Trackstar

I know I have just found this out the hard way

I have checked this out and it is true. I have got the forms necessary to hand this over to a new owner and they will not have to pay a penny. I also confirmed this by emailing RAC as I was going to try and sell the tracker seperately - but this is not cost effective. Essentially as I have already paid the full whack for this the new user will not have to pay a penny.

Oh...and the price for the car is now £14,995......

Exclamation

Trackstar
<smallprint mode>
Duration, Annual and Quarterly payments cover the Owner for as long as he/she is the registered keeper of the vehicle.
</smallprint mode>

Hard to see how it could be any other way

I have never paid an annual or quarterly payment - and I will never have to. They were options when I got the tracker installed but then again so was the "one off" lifetime payment which is the one I went for.

This means that I will not have to make another payment - which again I have double checked to make sure.

The paperwork I have is for a transfer of owner and again I have checked and they will not have to make any payments for the subscription.

This is why the price of the car is slightly higher then normal because I am covering the cost of the tracker which the potential buyer will be inheriting.

Regardless of that - this waffle enable me to go BTT!

I've just had my Trackstar moved from my old car to my new one. I also had a lifetime membership and have had to take out a new subscrition for the new car. I was told by Trackstar that even if I left it with the old car, the new owner would still need to start a new subscription.

Tempted to leave the bloody thing off

Steve

PS Good luck with the sale

I have emailed them again to confirm it but the last email I had stated I a new subscription would not be necessary.

Still if the worse comes to the worse I can phone them and say that I have moved, changed my contact numbers, and ahem!! changed my name by deed poll........

I can't believe this - Subaru garages are offering me 12-13K for the car - and I had one today quote about 14.5K trade in if I buy another car through them.

I then see the same car as mine with more miles and less bits going for £17995.

I think a fair price (and as low as I would want to go) for my car would be £14,500....any takers ??

Talking

<vulture mode on>

Want to make an extra bit of cash by selling the morettes seperately?

Don't think it would make a difference to a dealer...

<vulture mode off>

Let me know what you think.

Cheers

I have just had a buyer back out on paying me £14,500 for the car due to issues with the tracker.

Therefore the car is back on the market for £14,500. The issue with the tracker is that I got it wrong - the lifetime subscription is cancelled when I sell the car and the new owner has to take out a new subscription.

I can be contacted on 07793 430514 or 01908 267324.

I can think of stronger words to say about RACTrackstar but I wouldnt be allowed to repeat them here! It's a disgrace that they are effectively getting paid twice for the same product.

Never mind.... live and learn.....

They certainly won't be getting recommendations from me in the future.
