Note on the ECU to help interested purchasers.

Ignition map is like Tek 2 (so quite advanced but without the really high advance of the PPP in a few crucial areas which can cause trouble at higher boost) but with some of the low octane maps tidied up a bit to give a safer response to knock. Fuelling is enriched during spool up like Tek 2 but on full load is more like a MY99 ECU (leaner but still very safe), at most it is 3% leaner than MY99 in a few zones.

Boost target is 17.0 PSI midrange, 14.3 PSI at 6050 RPM. A small overboost to 17.5 PSI midrange when the car is hot in 4th or 5th gear should be fine.

It is mapped for Optimax. You may need to adjust the actuator to correct the boost level on your car.

A knocklink and AFR gauge should be used, if these read satisfactorily the ECU should be OK on most MY99/00 with decat, panel filter or 57i induction, intercooler hoses.

Alternatively the ECU can be custom mapped by Ecutek tuners and has a valid programming license in it.

Power figures off Delta Dash road dyno (ignore the actual numbers, compare the % increase):

AE802 decat, intercooler/hoses, induction running 14 PSI: 180 BHP, 184 lbft
+ Mapped running 17 PSI: 197 BHP (+9%), 206 lbft (+12%)
+ headers and half turn tighter on actuator (same ECU map) running 17 PSI: 208 BHP (+16%), 222 lbft (+21%)

What you getting?

See power figures added above. Note they are at wheels before you say they look low. Compare them with each other, not with anything else

Interested in the ecutek3

However is it not the case that a ecutek3 is a custom map to suit one car will it be okay in mine ?

MY00 full scoobysport de cat (downpipe mid and back) kn57i dawes device

What are headers ? how much ?

what sort of power / torque at flywheel ?? 270 270 ???

Got 274bhp and 242lb/ft on mine, but i`m told torque could have been down a bit due to not having enough heat in the headers.

Headers = manifold, as made by gruppe-s, obx, ion, hks etc

If you`ve got a knocklink and lambdalink, you`ll be able to tell straight away if its ok on your car i would`ve thought, plus, the license has been left open by John Banks so that it can be 'tweaked' if necessary by any other ecutek mapper.

p.s. JB did a safe map on my car, not an agressive one, so there`s even more chance it will be ok on yours
