You're working too hard again buddy. Mixing up the word 'rubbish' with the word 'simply amazing'.

Due to me starting to restore my STi7 back to near standard trim in preparation for sale early next year, I am offering the my AP 6 Pot brakes for sale:

These brakes as many will know are simply exceptional, seemingly unwarpable and I've yet to experience them fad.

This set are 14 months old, haven't got much wear on the discs and are fitted with Ferodo DS2000 pads.

Do to restoring the car to standard, I will need to get hold of a decent set of STi7/8 Brembo calipers and discs as part of the deal.

In addition to the exchange bits I am looking for £600 ono.

Edited to reflect more sensible asking price

Dougie,

Definitely need STi7/8 Brembos in exchange.

In good condition & perfect working order. All your other questions are answered above.

Sorry scooby-si, even if I was to accept cash offer instead of exchange you are well short of the going rate for set of AP 6 pots.

AP 6 pots = £1500 new

Brembo 4 pots = £750ish 2nd hand

So, £690 (asking price) + £750 (Brembo value) = £1440

Hardly a great saving is it?

You'd be going some to sell 2nd hand STi7/8 Brembos (1 piece discs) for £750, the going price is normally £400 or so for these.

I think you may be talking about 2 piece Brembos for the £750 you quote not the one piece a la STi 7/8.

No, its the OEM STI 7/8 parts I was referring to.

Do a search on here and you'll find numerous sets for sale at that price.

£400? lol. MY00 Subaru 4 pots almost fetch that!!

Must admit I don't agree with what you are saying mate. 2nd hand price for OEM STi7/8 Brembos is restricted coz people generally don't have the wheels to fit over them.

That is exactly what I found when I sold mine a few months ago. All the offers I got for mine were £400 to £450. Plus I ain't going to debate this anymore on this thread. If you are interested in buying them then great, if your not then please take your comments elsewhere.

Do admit that £690 is a bit steep though, would accept offers on the nose at £600.

Paul - just a thought in a well intentioned way

I suspect a lot of people on here would be interested, but only have e.g. standard 4 pots. You might get a lot more bites if you were prepared to buy the brembo 4 pots yourself, and just asked for cash (obviously more than £600). Could see many people not risking £450 (or whatever) on second hand brembos to exchange with you, as there's always a chance it would fall through.

Good brakes, nonetheless. Would be tempted if I was looking to upgrade mine at the mo. And a free BTTT

Cheers Hades,

I think you are right, must admit the thought had crossed my mind anyway, just testing the water at the moment re/. exchange Brembos, in case any STi7/8 boys are thinking of upgrading, particular for the trackcars out there.

I'm not in a mega rush at the moment, so when push comes to shove, it will be worth me buying some 2nd Brembos myself rather than let the APs go with the car.

I have the AP 6 pots (and cost me more than £1600 if you including the lines, etc.) They are simply the best available.
