MR2 vs Impreza...
#4
I was at the lights the other day, and a red MR2 pulled up next to me...
I had 3 friends in the car, a full tank of fuel and a cold engine...
I didn't take the bait.
He had a friend in his car too.
He put his foot down and went as soon as the lights turned amber... after a little bit of going nowhere, the car gained traction and shot off.
I was left wondering what would have happened if I had raced him. His car looked pretty quick... but I guess mine does too to the people behind me

If it was an MR2 Turbo then you would have a good race to beat him IMO...
*Stands by and waits until someone mentions rain/twisties or 4WD Traction off the line!!

Grant,
That is what I thought...
He seemed to shift some when he went... and I was left questioning what would have happened if I was alone in the car... could I resist the race? Probably not to be honest... but the shame of losing is too much for me to bear... I would of moved cities if I had raced and lost!
Maybe I should buy an old Lada... and then I won't be tempted to take on these challenges... until I see a kid with an electric scooter.
Opinions then:
Which would win: a Lada (carrying approximately 70kg man) or an electric scooter (carrying approximately 25kg child)?

My missus has a scooby and I have an MR2 turbo, I therefore feel somewhat justified in chucking in my 2p's worth. But they couldn't be more different ! Both very quick, but totally different.
Anoble1 obviously has no idea what he's talking about if he is referring to a turbo MR2 as a 'heap' so I'll assume he's referring to a NA MR2.
This topic is being covered a lot at the moment, fact is - they're both great cars. But a RWD mid engined two seater is always gonna be a little bit more 'hands on' in the handling dept !
Cheers

If its a Turbo then it'd be close. I've got an STI7 standard 260 bhp and I raced one over a ton on a dual carriageway and there was nothing in it at all. It was repeated further down the road too. Didn't get to 'go for it' off the lights though. I assume mine would have had the edge on it off the mark.
