I have found a suitable 6 speed with ratios I like and of course the Suretrac diff
So I am selling my original MY00 UK gearbox with LP/Par/Chalak gearkit in it.
The box was built using my original MY00 UK gearbox with new bearings and all appropriate new parts by Neil Engineering in Glasgow who have many years of experience with Subaru boxes.
The gearkit is the well known Lateral Performance gearkit guaranteed for 450 BHP and 400 lbft.
I have so far run it gradually up to 420 BHP (est) and 400 lbft in road use with no drag starts and it has been faultless in use, and has now had four oil changes.
Gear selection is sweet. The first to fourth gears are replacements which are very similar to the ratios on a standard UK car. They make slightly more noise but it sounds quite meaty but not intrusive especially with Redline Shockproof gear oil.
Given that the kit is about £2417 discounted to £2291 in Scoobyshop, and I am supplying a professionally rebuilt donor box (cost over £700) I am asking for £2200 plus delivery.
Please email me johnbanks@dsl.pipex.com
Here is the blurb on it:
"Once again, Australia have come up with the goods.
Some serious R&D has gone into this product, and after much testing of materials, heat treatments, and tooth profiles, this kit is guaranteed strong enough for cars running up to 450bhp, and 400ftlbs of torque.
This kit has been tested in cars, in both Australia, and the UK, with power levels exceeding the guaranteed limits, and has even survived the drag strip.
There are several gear ratio's available, to suit most requirements, and custom "one off's" are available by special order.
The kit comes with gears 1st~4th, and uses the stock 5th, which is more than strong enough."

Steve, as Paul says it is a complete box - so it has everything you need and is compatible with your WRX. You could also sell your presently working WRX box - going rate seems to be about £500, and there is a reasonable market because they break so often.

I'm no doctor, but if i was, I'd buy this gearbox if i had the cash. Its got synchros AND it still can withstand 400 lbs*ft. Keep in mind you dont have to build it from scratch and just bolt it on to your car. To be honest, if I'm not saving the cash for something that can do 230 mph VNE, I'd buy it straight away.

Had I had the money, or had no doubts about keeping my car, I would've snapped this up like a teenager snapping up a pro in Amsterdam. I trust John Bank's as he's a doctor hence plays it safe most of the time when it comes to cars compared to say an Engineer where the course involves making and breaking stuff most of the time. We know who we are.

I have this very gear kit in my car and is superb
It has done a few thousand miles without any issues, running 354bhp.
I replaced my UK box with an Sti box and that lasted about 1K miles before 3rd went.
BTTT for a great box
