SOMETHING DIFFERENT/ MK2 RS2000
#1
This is an extremely solid example of old skool performance cars.
Registered june 1977, black, mark 2 RS2000, 9 months mot, 2 months tax, aprox. 80,000 miles, 5 speed conversion professionally carried out, drives extremely well, used at weekends. £125 fully comp classic insurance.
I will try tom be as accurate as possible re: condition.
Excellent chasis
Excellent boot area ( letting a little water in, like most )
Great under bonnet
Excellent rear arches
Very straight panels
No serious rot anywhere on the car, in my opinion the only thing the car would benefit from is a respray. The car was coined a few years ago and i personally don,t think the paint job is up to scratch, still very fresh looking but on closer inspection alot of reactions.
Please don,t let that stop you as this is as good an Rs2000 as you will find without paying £7000-£12,0000 for a concours car.
£500 respray and you,ve got a stunning classic that can only increase in value, don,t get me wrong ( you could leave as is and have some serious fun ).
I will consider p/x ( cash either way ) for an impreza turbo, other cars considered.
This car is only for sale as i think my driving is better suited to modern sports. ( translated, i took a sideways motion in the rain and am now sh*t scared of the car ).
I paid £3750 for the car ( which isn,t expensive for one in this order ). I,ll let any interested parties make either cash offers or p/x deals.
How often do these come up ?

each time i buy a new car i get that feeling though at first for a short while till i get used to it, if thats what you want then they are great cars for tinkering with, granted unless you start putting cossy lumps in them they are not the fastest thing on earth but, mine was pretty damn quick, stripped out and light as hell, 2.1 pinto engine, with twin 45s, quick shift box, limited slip diff also i think it was a capri axle as i remember lightly, and the sierra 5 speed box would go in if you bashed out the tunnel so the bell housing of the box would fit in. Anyway wish you luck with ur sale

Have to say without piccies £3750 sounds expensive for a 77 car that could do with a respray. Owned a 1980 custom for 7 years and modded it heavily. Been semi interested in picking up another one for a couple of years now and for £3750 I've seen some damned good 79-80 customs. If you think it's worth that much you'll have to stick up some piccies to back it up.
p.s. whereabout in Scotland?
Kevin.

Ive had a couple of these mate. Sideways is the only way to move forward!
B*gger me, what fun I used to have with 170BHP.Sold mine for £3000 eight years ago, so yours seems reasonable considering how rare they are now.
I would love another, but sadly 2 cars and a bike isnt good with the girlfirend as it is.
Hope you sell mate.
PS still got a pod and clock for a 1978 custom and a couple of the rubbers that sit behind the headlight cowls. Maybe other stuff if I look. If anyone wants them let me know. BTW, FOC.
