Selling my Golf GTi Mk2 8v.
1989 G reg, 2 door, Atlas grey. 12 months MOT. 120k miles.
Condition is best described as good and honest, the car is 100% original and has never seen paint or a panel. Still on standard steel wheels, original numberplates etc. A few dings, scrapes, and a scabby rear valance, but nothing serious. Never been tarted/filled, no cover ups.
Mechanically the car is fine: just had full service, cambelt, thermostat and heater bypass valve. Tyres good. Still runs as sweet as any nut: no blue smoke on startup, engine makes all the right noises and still goes well with bags of useable torque.
Typical Golf problems are not in evidence: second gear synchro fine, rear calipers working, silent tappets, even the handbrake works well.
Cabin is fine, no ripped or saggy drivers seat bolster. Still drives tight: my mother's Cayenne has more squeaks & rattles.
Been a local car since new: bought it off a mate's sister and it has given me getting on a year's trouble free motoring. Bought a Toyota Hilux, so it has to go.
Would make ideal "station car": great fun to use every day, but no fears about dumping it outside the pub door and leaving it there all weekend.
In Trader next week for £600, will sell for £500. Got a feeling it won't be for sale long...
