Stevie,
Mate, I am getting stung by the insurance companies due to my new postcode, and I'm struggling to get a premium under £1.5k. It's off the road at the moment, and I have realised how rich I would be if I had something cheaper to run (like the 1.3 Polo I'm currently using
). Won't be for long though - I'll be back in a few years with a TypeR
and I'll still come along to the meets now and again. The only other option I was considering was waiting until I was 25 (2 months) and going with LV but looking at the thread in the insurance forum, they are starting to get funny about mods and I'm not going to put it back to standard. Anyway, I seem to change my mind everyday so who knows! Not actually got round to putting it in Autotrader yet anyway...
CraigSH,
Hi, I'm on the South coast - nr. Portsmouth.

insure the car at your parents address, perfectly legally.
then just drive to your chosen place of hanging out each evening.
thus claiming the benefits of your old premium costs, t'dah!! problem solved.
the real problem will come when you go with L&V next month, who will get the £10 M&S voucher???
laters dude, dont do it

I know dude, but I think it's time to free up a bit of cash and get something a bit cheaper for a year or two. It's not just the insurance - the fuel bills hit the wallet quite hard too. I will try with L&V before I sell, I'm not 25 till mid-july but maybe they could give me an offer in principle. But if I can't get it under £1000 then.....
I would be a bit uncomfortable insuring it at my parents address, I didn't think that was legal?? I would also consider a limited mileage policy but insurance companies don't make it easy for you to find out how to get your premium down.![Roll Eyes (Sarcastic)](https://www.scoobynet.com/images/smilies/rolleyes.gif)
This is the thread I was on about.

Yeah like you say it's under 2 months until I'm 25 so I think I will keep hold of it until then and reasses the situation
. But if I can't get it down to under £1k then it will have to go.
Andy, I was at a wedding this weekend mate, working the next 7 days but week off from the 31st.
Bzz, will have a think about it and let you know, but as above I might hang on to it for a couple of months so watch this space.
Cheers,
J
