Unhappy After two attempted thefts now selling

I have had charvers try to steal my car twice in 10 weeks.

I've only had the car for 4 months but it now has to go!

First time 3 hooded guys kicked my friends door in while we were watching a video, they got the keys but couldn't get in (txats!).

Then this week 4 of them were waiting for me when I got home from work.

Had heard bad things before I bought the car but never thought it would be this bad.

Now looking for a less attractive car.

Anyone interested in a UK MY98 (August 98), Reddish blue, colour coded (best colour), 68k, one previous owner, FSSH, Subaru transferable warranty, Aircon, 555 number plate, Clifford CAT1 plus more security, 6 disc changer and flip head unit, totally standard apart from STI alloys, VGC, £8000??

PM for photos.

Am gutted, saved for 3 years to get this car.....................

Sorry to hear it mate! But dont let them beat you!

You saved long and hard to get the car, so stay with it!

On the first evening I owned my STi TypeR I had an attempted car jack in which some one leapt the through the drivers window and grabbed the keys from the ignition while I was sat in the drivers seat

Keep it, invest in a good flick stick

Good Luck anyway

Andy

Yeah, they are called "The Government"

Just look at how long it took them to partially get to grips with mobile phone theft, and it STILL goes on...........witness the poor little lad stabbed for one last week:

How long before they bring in some REAL draconian measures for car theft, especially with menaces?

If I walk into a bank/building society/post office/jeweller and demand money/goods with menaces, I'll be the subject of a massive manhunt, and when apprehended, Ill go away first time and for quite a time............quite rightly too!

But steal a CAR with menaces...............what do you get?

I blame the do-gooders and Lying Labour

Thanks for the words of support.

After the first time thought fxck them I won't sell but this is taking the ****!

Every time it happens it means new keys, alarm fob, phone, wallet and whatever else they get.

Might still think about keeping it but just can't afford to pay out for all this every couple of months. Have now had to make an insurance claim this time for a new lock set so won't be able to afford to insure it next year anyway!!

For all worried I live in Greater Manchester, but actually quite a good area.

Nowhere is safe.............

My old man had his Vectra Sri took off him in broad daylight on a busy main road. You do get to a point and think is it really worth it, dream car or not. First sign of trouble for me and i'll get rid

SORRY TO SAY IT BUT ITS RIGHT!

Just watch the various police chase progs on tele

Like...... 'this young lad is a known repeat offender travelling at 95 through a town centre, oh and look he's just smashed the car up'

and whats he get? 20 hours community service and a 3 month ban!!! 3 MONTH BAN 9 times out of 10 they ain't got a licence anyway (so thats gonna hurt ) or their allready banned!!!!

and what does a driver doin 101 on an empty motorway at 3am get??

£200 fine, 6 points and a years ban! leading to loss of job etc etc.....

I had a little tw@t drive a stolen car full on to my car parked outside the house i got him took the keys before he could drive away and phoned the police.

Guess what happened NOTHING even though he broke into a house to get the keys, smashed my car and tried to treaten me into letting him go.

BTW the insurance claim for repairs to my car was down to me! lost 2 years no claims

British Justice at its best!

the Americans have got it spot on, 3 strikes and your lookin at 5 years

Yeah ok, Ill base my opinions on law on a few chase programmes on tv then the world is set to rights

Not saying the justice system is the best but to sit back and blame the government (not the judiciary) for evertything in life is a bit sad, especially using that poster as an example as most of the complaints they have is with the government

Just an example m8

its not just this government, things have been getting too easy for scum for years now.

was'nt it the conservatives who came up with...................

'your such a naughty boy,,,,lets send you on holiday or give you free driving leasons'

im sorry but the punishments do not reflect the crime these days

again for example

you nick a car worth £20K after kicking in a front door and threats to home owner. you get a slap on the wrist

do the same thing but its a shop/bank etc and get away with £20K CASH = 5 to 10 years

Did the one this week happen in Cheadle? I saw that in the local paper the other day.
Stuff like that has put me right off buying one now. Been after one for years and now I'm in the position to buy one I just can't bring myself to...

Thanks for the invite, sounds good.

Will you also camp on my drive every night to look after my car?

I love that car but it has to go, next time someone might get hurt, police told me that someone had been shot for theirs in Whalley Range a few months ago!

Just not worth it, will get one again but when I own a garage!

dont be put off rob, I've had one now for nearly a year and a half, and read all the horror stories of ownership, all my work m8's thought I was mad and that I would be dragged out of it within the week, beaten to a pulp and my pride and joy stolen.
Everytime I park in mcr or sk, I expect to see it gone when I get back
I've still got it though, and enjoy every minute of driving it. Lifes too short and all that, dont let scum dictate how you live your life. If you want something, then go get it m8.
See you at the next meet with your shiny new pride and joy
chris.
