Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution V

1/10th scale Kyosho radio controlled car. Bought in Japan a couple of months ago. GP spider Mk II alloy chassis, GS11R pull start glow plug engine. Four wheel drive, inboard disc brake, dampers with variable pre-load , adjustable rear wing.

Brand new. Fully built to a very high standard; three days solid work! Engine fired up and tested but never run. Bodyshell yet to be painted so can be sprayed and decalled to your choice.

Complete with Futaba transmitter and servos, glow plug heater and fuel, spare plugs etc.

A glow plug engine is a two stroke internal combustion engine. That is, it has a crankshaft, piston, cylinder bore, cylinder head, carburettor and exhaust system. The glow plug is the equivalent of a spark plug and ignites the mixture. The drive is transmitted via a centrifugal clutch (as you increase the revs the clutch engages). The fuel is, I think, primarily methanol based but (being a two stroke) it has oil in it as well for lubrication. The engine in my Evo V is 0.11 of a cubic inch and produces about 0.8 bhp. It revs to around 18,000 RPM.
