It's bad enough IM/Subaru UK making huge profits importing official cars. Now someone is trying to make several grand out of an unofficial import .

It's not mine to sell, but belongs to a friend, as i would have probably kept.

The car was imported from Belgium in December, but is a full UK car - with a UK warranty!

It is currently in the process of being registered over here!

Sorry it wasn't Belgium - It was actually Holland!

Russell does actually have a company car en-route, due to working for a new company! This is not a profit making exercise !!

People don't seem to complain when its someone like Park Lane, Sti imports etc bringing in an uniofficially imported car and making several grand out of it.......

Besides, this is a for sale section not an "interrigation forum"

The cars for sale, the details are there so make an offer or don't........the choice is yours....buy or don't buy

The warranty may only be a one year warranty unless this chap has negotiated with IM to provide three years.

Alarm could/could not be UK spec - Dutch cars don't have them. ICE may/may not be UK spec.

This is cheaper than a UK car, and is available now. Someone will probably want it, but check over the details with a fine tooth comb. The seller also needs to be very careful saying it's "UK Spec" and "UK warranty" as if it isn't he could be sued for fraudulent information if it turns out not to be what he says it is. This isn't intended as a flame/argument/whatever, it's a warning that your mate really should say from the start that it's a C8D EKEM model from Holland which is UK spec apart from the exceptions: alarm, warranty, handbook, warranty book, locking wheel nuts.

(I paid 16,100 for my Dutch import MY00 with air con, but waited 5months. Without aircon cars are running at about 15k and 5 month wait)

Still, this is available now and someone will want it. Just disclose everything!

Nick (trying to give advice, not criticise)

Cool

The only people who moan about this sort of thing are the ones who decided to buy a UK car because they are too lazy and/or scared to buy one abroad. It is they who are keeping the prices up in the UK. This is a half-way house deal (a car now and a discount)and someone else has taken all of the risks to date.

The argument that it is better to buy a UK sourced car is b*ll*cks as the only extras you get are a 2 year dealer warranty (which you can buy for £430 from any main dealer) and a CAT 1 Alarm/imobilser (which will cost about £350 and will probably be better than the one on the UK sourced car). All this for an extra £6000- hmm sounds like a crap deal to me!

Also there is no such thing as 'UK-spec.' only the specification of cars that are sold in the UK. You can say 'to UK spec' if that is the case.

The handbooks can be bought in the UK and it is only the warranty books that can not be sourced as they have the warranty details included. - big deal!

All main dealers are obliged by European law to service and repair these vehicles and so even that is not a problem.

Personally for the price asked I think this is a bit of a bargain.

PS are locking wheel nuts part of the standard package now or just fitted by certain dealers?????
