They are in good nick the car scares me too much on urban roads so no real tough braking in the 5k. As far as fitting your 94wrx I don't know maybe posting in general questions will give you an answer. If they do you can have them for £150 if you arrange transport

Pilch,

you'll need 16" rims to fit them in I think.

Andy

Oh, I think I read the post wrongly - I assumed that the calipers were for sale as well. *doh*

Er.. whats a caliper? No, seriously, what is a caliper? I don't know!

OK, I got 16" rims, so provided everything else is supplied I can use them. Adem, I'm assuming you've gone for a complete upgrade?

Hey J, which GF? The car, or the woman? LOL!
I'm bringing mine too, so we'll leave 'em in the bar or whatever, and you can educate me How much are the other bits I'll need to upgrade to this brake system Adem is selling? I haven't a clue what I need. Feeling inadequate? I AM!
Adem, are you supplying everthing, ie from an upgrade? Dunno if you saw my other posting in wheels/brakes etc. I need pipes, calipers etc.
If it won't cost too much for the other bits to fit your parts, I'll go with it. You going to Donno? You could take them with you.
Hey J, do I need a ticket for Donno or is it turn n burn?

Pilch,

It's simple really - the calipers hold the brake pads and the mechanism (pistons or 'pots') that forces the pads onto the discs and hence slow you down (due to friction, of course).

I'm not too sure what Adem is selling, but to upgrade your brakes you'll need the calipers and pads for sure. Not too sure if you need the MY99/00 discs (depends on their diameter and thickness compared to your current ones), but you should be able to use you're own brake hoses.

If your not running 16" or bigger wheels then you will probably need to upgrade these first. Since I think the clearances may be a bit tight around the calipers on std. 15" wheels.

Changing the brake parts round shouldn't be too much hassle if you're used to bleeding brakes, etc. But if you're unsure it's probably best to take it to a garage; it'll cost a bit in labour charges, but it's probably worth it if you're in any doubt.

Hope this helps,

Andy

Adem, are you supplying the calipers as well, or just pads and disks?

Pilch I can't see them not fitting your car... but check with a garage to be sure. I went for the prodrive grooved front discs and uprated pads all round and I'm still bedding them in so I can't tell you if they are worth the £££ they cost to buy. Bad news I'm afraid I'm keeping the calipers hoses ect.ect. Still intrested? lets talk buisness....

Pilch,

the pads and discs Adem is selling will be no use to you without the calipers. They will only fit a car fitted with the 4 pot calipers (ie MY99 UK car, or most imports from 97/98 onwards).

Since the going rate for 2nd hand 4 pot calipers, and discs and pads is between about 300 - 400 quid, I would say that £150 for just a set of 2nd hand discs and pads is very expensive.
