Default headers swap opportunity

anyone fancy a change?

am looking to swap my Hayward and scott 4 into 1, 1.5" primary headers for a set of HKS headers.

Retail and second hand price on these things is about the same.

Mine have a 2.5 inch up pipe flange and are wrapped and painted with silver heat resistant paint (meant to seal the wrap).

They have also been adapted to house four egt probes at the exhaust ports, for anyone who wants to do some proper mapping.

My reason for changing is that I believe they are restricting my engine att he top end of its power band. Due to their primaries being slightly too small for my application.

That is why I am after HKS headers which have 1 5/8" primaries.

This does mean that these should give higher gas speed and thus spool up faster than the HKS would all other things being equal.

These will not restrict you unless you are in the same territory as my engine. They still managed to flow 568bhp on my last dyno session and 555 on the most recent one with a slightly different turbo.

Torque was 488lbft at 3100 rpm, so spool up wasn't a problem on a fairly large turbo (despite it being a 2.5).

I am not worried about the cost of spool up as my aim is to reduce low down torque as I don't believe the engine/bearings can handle it! If I am going to go for reduced low end torque then I lose the advantage these give me over the HKS headers, so I may as well go for those.

Is anyone interested in a change?

I would only swap for genuine wrapped HKS headers.
