Thanks for the info on warranty
Have been to the link you mentioned - really useful information
Must say that the UK Scooby dealers have a great attitude to EC cars - have had nothing but help so far
Guess that's one reason they always seem to come top of the surveys
Cheers

What did the car cost you - £16K tops including expenses and vat ?
£19,250 ! You're kidding right ?
£16.5K is a realistic price IMHO assuming no extras.
I also have an import and I'm under no delusions that it's worth the same as a UK car.

Don't know how you manage to get an MY00 for under £16k, but by the time all ex's and fees paid then more than that.
Still think that circa £2.5k - £3.0k less than list for a brand new Turbo must be a good buy
Pls tell me if you believe different

My MY00 is 10 months old and was £15K including vat when the NLG rate was about 3.4 to the pound.
I'm not sure if there's been a Subaru price rise since but the NLG rate is now 3.65 - 7% more NLG's for you pounds.
Has your car got aircon ?
Are you prepared to say what you paid for it ?
Try selling it to a dealer - they won't be interested.
Anything over £500 on what you paid is taking the Michael IMHO.
Are you a dealer or something ?
Kevin
(nothing personal)

Certianly not a dealer !!!
A guy who drove his mate's Scooby when he got one - fell in love with it (who wouldn't ?) and ordered one from NL 6 months ago
Took delivery 3 weeks ago and can't afford it !!

Bloody ell
I bought mine in May and had a few extras including ST2s, colour coding, guage set etc and paid all in £14,700, that includes VAT, excludes my travelling costs of about £250.
So me thinks you be a bit greedy ! Try £15g, you may be lucky.

come guys the guy only trying get so money back for traveling out there to pick it up and drive it back and sorting out all the red tape i.e customs, reg , vat etc...
who knows with the state of the exchange rates he might of paid over the odds on that day it's begin to sound like a witch hunt

hardly think its a witch hunt.
just that most of us on here with scoobies see all the ads and costs for importing and the price Neils after seems rather steep ?
i considered importing but decided it was a bit of a gamble i was not prepared to take. but if i had i would not have expected to pay more than around 17k all in for one ?
and lets face it, if Neil did get stung by an exchange rate that was bad it dont mean he's going to get it back trying to sell 2nd hand does it ?
Neil : try to keep and enjoy the car m8, u know it makes sense sell the wife / girlfriend if u have to

Hi guys,
Just got in and seen your replies.
Steve : Thanks for the suggestion on selling the wife - but done quite a bit more than 1000 miles and having some difficulty getting through an MOT (hope she doesn't find a way of reading this, or I,m dead)
Would love to keep it, but ... placed the order when things were good, now slightly less than average !
Did want to cover all my ex's and make a profit (guess you can understand that??) ... but will bow to the greater knowledge of the Scoobynet experts and re-adust the price to £18.4k - hope that's reasonable

hi neil
i still think in this current car price climate you will have problems with much above 17k.
sorry to hear u really cant keep her. much better than the wife
surely yours must be worth more than that m8
is she in excellent working order ?
c'mon, someone give neil a decent offer on the wife so he can keep the scoob ? you all know how you would feel if you have to aprt with the scoob. but keep the trouble and strife ?
which is more fun......honestly ?
neil : dont worry about sleeping, scooby front seats are very comfortable
steve
p.s i think tony was after your wifes e-mail address so he could converse with her in case you decide the scoobs the better bet

Hi Steve
You don't know my wife !!
Too many re-bores to be serviceable
Definitely get a bit of "piston slap"
... This conversation is rapidly deteriorating !!
Seriously, thanks for your comments
