Cool

Leon,
Why does a company car force sale? I see this alot, but cannot understand why. Surely you have the option of the company car? This is a general question, not specificaly aimed at you, but it seems like a good thread to ask it on.

I am forced to have a company car and i dont even have a choice which one i have. I ravel the country and they will not pay car costs towards my own car so in a way that forces you to take the car unless your loaded.

Purely economics, I'm doing 45k miles / year now.

The mileage rate I was getting didn't cover the costs and I'm beginning to run low on beer tokens!

Sorry, but I think the price is too high for the mileage. There are lots of STI's for sale cheaper (e.g. in Autotrader : 'S' STI IV 26k miles £16,500, 'R' STI ? 24k miles £15k, 'R' STI V 43k miles £14.5k). Try £17.5k and be prepared to come down.

Thanks for your thoughts Kevin.

I notice that the cars you've compared the price to are STI IV's and your right they are cheaper funnily enough. Dealers are advertising at £21k - £23k so £19.5 k for a private sale sounds pretty fair to me.

If you're seriously interested please call me or mail me.
If you just wish to educate us amateurs on the second hand car market, apparently Top Gear are looking for a replacement for Quentin.

I agree....I hate it when people say "in the Autotrader they are xxxx". I mean, how can you compare the value of two cars when you haven't seen or driven either of them?

Cheap cars are usually cheap for a reason! Especially from a dealer, why would they be selling them cheaper than the going rate. It's common sense to me....you pays yer money.

I was just giving my opinion that I thought it was expensive for a 'T' reg with 30,000 miles.

I don't expect dealers are selling many at those prices either.

Maybe £19,500 is a reasonable price, but cars are only worth what people will buy them for.

I'm sure it's a great car and I wish you every success in selling it.

Kevin

Angry

Dealers probably sell plenty at those prices, because they haven't got a Kevin standing next to each vehicle, telling every punter that comes along how expensive he thinks the car is!

No. Richard F just put that up there to wind me up. He probably doesn't even own a scoob.

Anyway, by the sounds of all those dodgey aftermarket bolt-ons, Richards is prbably a bag of spanners. Not the shining example available from my good self.

However, I may be a little flexible on the price, so come on SHOW ME YOUR MONEY.

Hmmmmmmmmm

I can assure you it is real but I just want rid of it so I've priced it as such. If you like, you can buy it..! Anyway, it's not so much a bag of spanners, only driven by one!

There are cheeper cars in Autotrader, but you always get what you pay for. I have learnt that the 'bargains' are never that, they are usually thrashed and trashed.

£17,995 or sensible offers.

For a car that is as quick to 100mph as a Ferrari F355 or a 911 turbo. Not that I've been able to prove it because that would be illegal.
