5 speed PAR synchro, DCCD and quaife front diff
Am selling this combo due to my engine making the best part of 550lbft which this box is not quite rated to handle.
Ratios are similar to uk 5 speed with a 0.738 fifth and a 3.9 final drive.
Since the dccd has 1:1 drop gears. It will only go in cars with a 3.9 rear diff such as new shape jap cars, converted new shape uk cars, or classics with a 3.9 rear crown wheel and pinion from a sport.
The front diff is a quaife atb.
fifth gear shaft has been spark eroded for two woodruff keys so is good for plenty torque. The gearing in top equates to about 25mph per 1000rpm, so produces 75mph at a lazy 3000rpm.
The gearbox was built properly by phil venn at barretts motorsport, one of the few people who I would trust to put these things together properly in this country. It has covered less than 2000 miles due to the car being mostly off the road.
The gearbox was properly run in and its oil changed after the first hundred miles. It has since been changed again and is running on redline high shock.
The gear kit came from the same batch of kits as trouts which has survived several thousdan miles at over 500+lbft.
This is close enough that I would consider risking it, but I would rather not take that chance.
Would rather sell with dccd, but can be sold without it if it makes it easier for someone with a standard viscous centre diff and 1.1:1 drop gears to fit it to a standard 3.9 final drive equipped car.
