keep the spoiler !! change insurance company,i cant see why the would ask for a standard fit item to be taken off,check they dont think it's an after market job.

Keep the spoiler and argue with the Insurance Co.

I recently fitted MY00 high spoiler with brake light, and declared it to the Ins. Co. and they wanted extra £35.

I objected on the grounds that this is standard equipment fitted to late model Imprezas, and that the addition of the high level brake light reduces the risk of a rear end shunt ( by someone who may not be insured etc.), and therefore reduces the potential liabilty to the Insurer, I should expect a premium reduction!

They agreed to accept the spoiler at no extra cost, providing I accept that in the event of a claim I would have to accept the standard low level spoiler as a replacement.

Be ascertive.

Spoke to the insurance company about keeping the spoiler, but they are sticking by it, aparently they think adding the 2000 Hi Level will attract scumbags to steal it or cause me to go boy racing and crash. So to keep them happy I have decided to leave the low level in place, thanks for your comments though.
