The center decat is bad, buyers want standard cars, the PPP should be a plus point as it is a subaru authorised part (well my thinking when I was recently looking).

End of the day if the price is right it will sell, unless its a complete dog

make it easy for the buyer, so he dont have to chase you for simple info ref the car

I think you should look at your advert.....and give as Much info as possible......
For Example since youve posted on this thread theres been NO mention of a price..Is this because youve overpriced the car ?

You need to be patient - my car (very similar spec) took a month to sell, and eventually sold through my ad on the SIDC site.

Price is an issue certainly - how much are you asking? - and so is that centre decat. The PPP removes the downpipe cat anyway, so without the centre cat either the car is (as I'm sure you know) in an illegal state and will fail an MOT. There are people out there, myself included, who care about this and who wouldn't buy it for that reason. If you've got the PPP centre section then put it back on and sell the decat pipe separately.

Also, have you got some decent photos of the car looking all bright and shiny? It'll never shift without them to tempt buyers.

Just checked your ad and it looks OK - although you'd do well to cough up a fiver for 'For Sale' access on SN and put a proper ad in the right forum.

Your starting bid of £8500 is a realistic - if slightly optimistic - selling price, although having a reserve set above this isn't doing you any favours at all. I got £8900 for mine with 70k on the clock, but with 17" Prodrive wheels and driving lights too.

Also consider a trip to somewhere like LittleKnocks to get your dings and paint chips sorted. Your ad mentions rust, and there's no need for any Impreza buyer to consider a rusty car. However minor it may be now, Imprezas generally don't rust at all and buyers know this. Get these and the dings sorted for a couple of hundred and you can advertise the car in a much better light. You may not get your money back, but you might manage to sell the car at all.

Good luck

just seen the ad, ( I thought this was it )
I think if you put up on as many places as possible will give you a better chance,

put a proper ad on here and;
sidc
piston heads
local freeads/adtrader
supermarket
post office
gym
etc etc

no it doesn't??

Its the PPP ECU, Prodrive backbox and uprated intercooler piping.

In two minds about selling the classic now!! I'd rather sell the bugeye. Anyone interested? Silver 51 plate WRX, 64000 with full history. £10500.

Both wrong, PPP for this model year includes resonated centre decat section in addition to intercooler hosing, ecu and backbox. The downpioe cat alone is enough for MOT pass.

Dont be sorry, imo the bulk of your advice was sound. Just sold mine, took a couple of weeks in Autotrader and here on the SN.

On the lookout for a replacement now!
