Hi Adam,
I remember all of that going on for every other console.
A friend of mine paid £350 for a Japanese Playstation, when they came out. This was followed by a Japanese N64 at £400.
His only saving grace was me bringing back two Dreamcasts from Hong Kong in a suitcase, but they only came to £150 each early last year!
£650, I don't know, but I'm sure there are people willing to offer you £400-450!!
Then again, there are going to be quite a few dissapointed kiddies come the 25th, if their parents don't pay you £650!!!

Managed to get one of these spare.
Have seen some going for around 2k but would like to sell mine for about 650, open to offers for scooby people though.
It is brand new (obviously) as in the seals are not broken and the box un opened. Available immediately in the london area.
If this is rediculous then feel free to laugh me off the site.

I'm developing a ps2 title at the moment...hold on to your money!...its too early to get the most out of the machine for us over-worked developing companies...give it another year for the best games/content..there is a huge learning curve to exploit the machines 3D/audio capabilities..I would pay max 200 squid for those unreliable little black boxes.plus they have hardware problems on the early models (like the ps1 and n64 did)...sony are very clever maniplulators of the market :-)

Does the DVD player lose sound sync after a while ?
Does the RGB output for DVD's have a green tinge ?
Thanks, but I'll wait until March and get one for £299 with all the problems fixed (hopefully).
Unless you'll let your dodgy one go cheap that is

Cem,
I have looked at your address and you seem to live really near me. I would like to meet up one day if you can.
You sure about price?
others
seen rediculous adverts at silly prices.
Have two spare, genuine english with warranty so don't give a damn about rumoured teething problems, will take back if they rear their ugly heads.
If any wants one at a later date and tehy havent sold, give me a call and I will probably let them go for the 300 that they cost me. This may even be on 24th Dec if it comes to it.

This really *****s me off. If there's one thing I can't stand it's quick money-makers taking much sought-after things away from the people who really want them. I bought my PS2 for me because I wanted to play on it, not because I wanted to sell it off to some parents who are desperate not to disappoint their kids for Christmas.
This sucks, just as people buying 22Bs and other limited edition cars, and then flogging them on quickly to more desperate people, also sucks.
Sorry, but like I said, the quick buck-makers really irritate me.
Richard

Kevin,
On TV last night they said that you cannot output a RGB signal while watching DVD. It may say so in the ps2 menu's but the output is composite. This is a result of the software upgrade to get DVD's to play at all.
Oh and they said DVD playback was crap.

My DVD player was £400. It can play DVD's and CD's only and it does that very well.
For £299, I wouldn't expect a brilliant DVD player I guess.
I'll probably get a PS2 for £299 in March/April for one thing - to play GT3 and I'll probably never put a DVD in it.
Is being able to play DVDs that important ?
It doesn't really bother me if the DVD playback is rubbish as I just want one for the games.

Kevin,
I agree with you. I have over £9000 of Home Cinema gear and wouldn't dream of using a games console as a video/audio source. My ps1 does a good job of putting Colin McRae 2 through the system though.
People who use the PS2 as a DVD player will probably not know the difference between RJB and composite signals anyway.
I'll go down the PS2 road sometime in the spring I think when more software is available.

Sunilp,
Ooops
Use S Video from DVD as its a US import and has no RGB or Scart.
Has the 3 component outputs though, ready for upgrading to front projection.
