Neil,
<BLOCKQUOTE><font size="1" face="Verdana, Arial">quote:<HR>This car has been fully maintained from Brand new by Subaru UK <HR></BLOCKQUOTE>
Can you confirm that the Subaru UK / IM have been maintaining an import or if I'm miss-reading this.
Somebody here at work is thinking about a Scooby - I'll pass on the URL.
Cheers,
Chris.

CrisB : You Read correctly, The car has a full Subaru UK service history. Subaru UK know about the car as does Prodrive who have also supplied parts for it.
Sammyh : I don't want to sell it, i don't! but fuel costs, high insurance, high running costs because only the best goes into it, It's just had a replacement engine and clutch which cost £ 000's of pounds, new wheel bearings, new this, new that and it's back in the garage because of a suspected clutch problem (yes, i know its a new one and that was the final straw !!!) . The leda is excellent, the noise from the blitz makes you smile and the VF23 spooling up thro the down pipe arousing but ive reached an age where i want comfort and not a race car on the road.
To get the car as i want it will cost, i want 17" alloys and a Link ECU but that'd be another £2,500 gone.
In a way im lucky, It's a sought after model ( version III Type R )and it has bags of character (even a nice FIA badge on the back).
It's a great car, if i keep saying it, i'll persuade myself to keep it but im so tempted to sell. I know i'll regret selling it as it'll become a collectors car one day but i need a car to use daily an it's wasted on that.

Neil, I think I've seen you on the M4 (Reading to Swindon) a few times. If it was you then I can confirm you've got an immaculate looking car. I used to drive a silver MY99. What's the mileage on yours ?

Hi Stan
Yes, i do the daily Reading to Swindon run and my car is immaculate.
R U the silver scooby with the Gold Wheels?
I used to see you often and you'd always overtake me...... I can't afford the fuel to keep up.
Mileage, Well, the car has done about 77,000 miles now but the new engine has done less than 20,000 and the clutch about 7,000.
The suspension has done about 40,000 and the brakes between 15,000 and 25,000 miles
Confused?
Regarding the clutch problems i experienced on monday, we've found out what it was.... you'll love this!
Of the 8 bolts holding the new lightened flywheel in place, 4 were only hand tight and one had worked almost totally loose
Anyway, im sure my new impreza will have all sorts of expensive add-ons bought from reputible suppliers , R u listening?
Cheers Stan, Neil

Neil, yes that was me. Unfortunately I had to sell the car once it got near the 50000 mile mark. Currently driving a Ford Focus hire car until I can decide what to get next.
Cheers

At 11 grand you are giving the thing away! Even with the 72K it has to be worth 13. I have the exact same car but with 32,000 on it, no mods and no subaru history. I was hoping to sell it in about 3 months time for around 15K,maybe I am dreaming but yours does sound like an absolute steal for somebody. Found one on the Autotrader web site only about a month ago, same year, in white, £21,995!!!!
Good luck with it mate

Chaps,
Ive spent the thick end of £9,000 on it this year and ive just had an insurance quote for this year (£1150 !!!).
Im waiting for a Pug garage to give me a quote and i'll take it from there.
My plan is to run around in a 206 (Tdi or Gti) for two years and then get myself another STi.
