might be an idea to get a photo of it without the surround so we can see what it looks like.

Cool

Craig,

The smallest carbon kit I do is the basic £395 kit which includes the gearlever surround, the radio console (Sti/uk), the centre vents, the instruments surround, left and right side and upper vents.

It's not comercially viable for me to offer these in a smaller package. It also causes all sorts of logistic and stock problems if I were to split up kits which is why I don't.

Also the individual panels on their own would look out of place next to the plain black panels and would ruin the entire effect.

Tony, Craig, If you want any more info on the carbon kits then please feel free to mail me offline either at the addy in my profile or enquiries@nitosport.co.uk

Regards
Nito

Thanks Sonic,

Glad you like it!

Just a little tip for saving the original gaitor; If you're careful with those clips, ie use some thin nosed pliers they are re-useable, sometimes they bend a little but you can use the pliers to straighten them back out.

The above chrome surround bolts through to a sandwiching plate underneath. The gaitor is also a proper genuine Italian leather as those who have it fitted will be able to smell for the first few weeks!!

It'd probably look better without that tacky writing on it... Is this an option?

Hi Chaps,

Thanks Andy. I'll try and put n a picture of the surround on it's own below.

Karlos, It's only available with this writing at the moment. The writing is laser etched on so it doesn't look tacky as such, the picture doesn't do it any favours. I thought the same thing when I first took mine out of the packet but once fitted it looked excellent. It would also look very plain without it.

Regards,
Nito
ps..you can also pay by all major credit/debit cards etc..

Hi Tony,

The carbon effect surround (not available on its own) is part of the carbon kit which starts at £395 for the basic 8 piece kit covering most of the major trim items.

Prices for the carbon panels are on exchange basis only.

Nito

Is it not commercially viable to sell these panels seperately?

I'd be quite keen on some, but not all of the kit - gear surround etc.......

Guys,

Bought the Chrome surround from Nito recently. Does look good. Just after the STi pedals now.

Bit busy this evening, but I'll take a digi-pic of it tonight and post it here tomorrow morning.

It took me about 20mins to fit.

RE: Keeping old parts. I keep any original components I replace just in case a future buyer pulls the "its not original spec" comment.

As long as you are careful when removing the clips from the old gater, this will go back on if needed in future. (Just need to buy some new clips available from any DIY store).

One happy customer here NITO

Post on its way tomorrow.

Is that £395 for a real carbon kit or fake? The trim in the pic doesn't look real and £395 seems a lot if it's fake.

Stef.

Stef,

Real carbon would cost thousands! It's carbon effect as used in japan by Subaru Technica! The original panels are re-worked in Carbon effect, which involves prepping them, dipping in some sort of flotation tank along with the effect film and then trimming and laquering. It's not a stick on kit, it's the original panels re-dressed. It's a complicated process and looks the nuts when it's on the car.

When you consider that crappy stick on kits, (I used to have a carbon kit and then an aluminium) cost in the region of £220 this is cheap! Subaru Technica charge considerably more for their kit and that's before being imported with taxes paid! Again pictures don't do them justice and I've not met anyway who hasn't liked them in the flesh!

If you guys want carbon look surrounds there are hundreds of folks in the USA that would trade with you, the 2001 RS came with carbon surrounds! All you have to pay is shipping. Check the forums at i-club.com

By the way the US stuff looks exactly like that picture.

Nito,

what sort of turnaround time for an STi V?

And do I get a trade in for superior, lightweight, faster STi trim panels?

Nito,
Do you do a surround for my97? If so, could that be on the deal price?

Craig I have them in stock so if you were to come down here it would be straight away. Otherwise just the time it would take to post which would be a day or so! As for Superior lighteweight panels...there'll be a surcharge on those as it's a grey unofficial import and the british motor industry demands you be screwed at every opportunity!

Nozzer, yes I do do the surround for earlier cars but that's not included in the group buy as it costs more to make than the later one and is already at the same rrp price. You can see that one at

Nito.
OK, fair enough.
Oh, and what's wrong with 'crappy stick on kits'??? Mine only cost £100 and I don't think it looks that bad...
